Le Cone Heels

Redoute

I’ve always prided myself on being immune to La Redoute’s charms, but friends and flatmates forced me to reconsider, and looking through the catalogue lead me to these cone-heeled wonders from Barbara Bui. They’re £100, because Isabelle Adjani picked them out, thus making them celebrity footwear, thus overpriced. They are pretty though. If you’re not feeling quite that flush, for £49 you can get some pretty tweed shoes with bows on, and as the page helpfully informs us, tweed is THE LATEST TREND, which may be news to you if you’ve just crawled from under a rock.

Sex & The City Shoe Wallpaper

CharlotteSingle ladies rejoice! You can put this fab shoe wallpaper around your home without any complaints from men (if you have a man who doesn’t mind this kind of thing, does he have any friends?). The range is inspired by every shoe girl's favourite TV show, Sex & The City, and is created by bespoke wallpaper designer Rachel Kelly. The one we've picked is Charlotte, but you can also get Carrie and Miranda. It’s £62 a roll, so perhaps best saved for one of those trendy ‘feature walls’. If you're feeling cheap, there are transfers and stickers starting at £11.

See www.interactivewallpaper.co.uk for more information.

Georgina Goodman

MableGeorgina Goodman’s shoes have a quirky, girly feel to them, with interesting leathers and retro conical heels being trademark design details. We love how the designs are given girl’s names, and the website describes every shoe as ‘she’, like your pair of Mandy pumps are your new best friends (at £310, they should be!). This shoe is Mable (£275), a typical example of Goodman's vintage-style designs.

Olivia Morris

Olivia_1If you like shoes by Olivia Morris, you’re in good company, as Keira Knightley wears her customised ‘blank canvas’ boots. Olivia trained at Cordwainers College, just like Linda 'LK' Bennett, Patrick Cox and Jimmy Choo. She’s collaborated with Matthew Williamson, and also created a diffusion line for Topshop. These pink leather and glitter peel-back pumps are from her latest collection, available in boutiques around the world. Get to the back of the queue….

Abominable Snow Shoes

Yeti_1 We can almost understand the appeal of these furry boots (Frognal, £35 from Barratts). They’re warm, they’re comfy, they make the tops of your legs look skinny, and in the absence of a man they’re probably quite nice to cuddle. But we still reckon they’re best left to 13-year-olds and pop stars. The furry boot is not a good look for everyday. To quote the bloke we overheard this week, “you look like you’re wearing half a yeti costume.” And for all those girls who swear they dress to impress other women, they probably don’t like them either.

Oh Baby Baby

BabypinQ: What’s cuter than baby shoes?
A: Baby shoes that adults can wear.

These gorgeous little charms come courtesy of jeweller Aaron Basha. Pins like this retail at about £3,000 and there are also pendants for about £2,000. Pshht, it’s pocket money really, isn’t it? The range is available at Harrods, but (yet again) is not on the website.
