Happy bidding!
Winning the prize for cleverest use of a bow on a boot, Kurt Geiger has caused heart palpitations chez Shoewawa with these gorgeous 'Wuthering' boots (£149). With heels like these, they're perhaps not suited to running around the moors pining after men named Heathcliff, despite the name (shame). They're better worn with a pretty, slouchy top and turned-up jeans, or, if you can pull it off, a long gypsy skirt.
Ugg Australia, (the cult sheepskin bootmakers adored by the likes of Sienna Miller, SJP and Kate Hudson) have teamed up with the NSPCC for a charity auction called 'Walk of Art' . By bidding on LastMinute.com you can own your very own pair of Ugg boots customised by a celebrity like Victoria Beckham, Minnie Driver or Cat Deeley, with the proceeds going to the children's charity. The ones featured here are Danni Minogue's effort, and probably the most wearable of the lot. All auctions end on the 31st November, so get bidding!
Fans of Louis Vuitton, we're beginning to believe that Marc Jacobs and co. are going a bit stir crazy. Nobody can blame the brand for trying to do something a bit less obvious than whacking a monogram on a pair of mules and flogging them to social climbers, but did they really need to go as far as this? We bring you the Scottish Derby shoe. We can't help but admire the novelty appeal, but what exactly would you wear these with? Answers on a postcard...
Sadly, ELuxury don't ship to the UK yet, but if the mood takes you, the shoes are available from Louis Vuitton boutiques across the country from something in the region of £500.
You may have already heard of Scholl's latest invention - 'Party Feet'. They're re-useable gel pads that act as cushions and aim to stop that burning feeling on the balls of your feet. But the question is do they work? To put them to the test I put them into my 4 inch stilettoes before a night out. I usually stash flip-flops to go home in, but with these (and a vodka or seven) I was still standing at 3am. While I'm not promising painless partying (even scholl can't work miracles) these do come highly recommended for those of who have a low pain threshold!
Party Feet, £4.99 a pair at Boots (and most supermarkets)
Yes, you did read the title right. These really are designer wellies! No longer just a staple of farmers and country folk with wax jackets and huge dogs, wellies are the quirky girl's alternative to boots this season. And please, if it's a choice between these and cheap ugg(ly) boots, go for rubber every time (nudge nudge, wink wink). You've probably already spotted stripy, polka dot and printed wellies on the high street (try Oasis or Topshop), but when you can get 7o's retro Pucci ones for only £65, why not jump at the chance to get designer gear at an affordable price?
Ovali print wellies by Pucci at Net-a-porter.
David & Goliath, creators of logo t-shirts emblazoned with such gems as ‘Mullets get chicks’ and 'Boys are smelly' have teamed up with streetwear label Vans to create some very groovy footwear. The special edition Vans Mary J comes in red, white or black with the trademark Vans checkerboard trim and a David & Goliath design inside (and a free wristband, for your inner 15-year-old Avril Lavigne fan). If you want even more obvious David & Goliath branding, ASOS is carrying their converse-like sneaker with the (in)famous 'boys are stupid, throw rocks at them' logo.
