It would be wrong to slag off Gwen Stefani’s unique style, but we had to laugh at her jumping about on stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards trying to stay upright. Ballet-pump inspired fetish platforms, it’s a look that nobody else could pull off (not even you, Aguilera). But the thing with Gwen is that somehow, teamed with the whole Alice in Wonderland get-up and surrounded by scary looking Japanese girls, the shoes don’t look that bad. Don’t try this at home though, kids.

Um. Platform shoes? They make women.. err.. I don't think WOMEN wear them... look like freaks. They make the feet look bad: big. Feet should look small.
I LOVED the platforms as a teenager in the 90's. The Spice Girls wore them, hello! I suffer from extreme lack of tallness, and I thought they were cool for that. Bah. I believe I got rid of my platforms, thank you.
Reply to Wendy, The shoes that Gwen wears are by Galliano for christian Dior. she also wears vivienne Westwood and the boots in the video 'what you waiting for?' when Gwen is at the piano, are Vivienne westwood bondage Boots. although these arent platforms, theyre kickass boots!
The platforms in the WYWF video, are some rather kick ass shoes. It just shows that Gwen Stefani once again has her own style and unlike alot of small-minded people doesn't necessarily follow the latest trends.
i luved her in those platforms,sure she was finding it difficult to walk in them but i thought that was sexy too.Next time hope she wears even higher platforms & makes one of those japanese girls carry her.
she ripped all of her "originality" off of the 10 year old trends in japan. If all of it wasn't so expensive you'd see mobs of Gothic lolitas swarming the local walmart....

Steenie,you have no idea what you are talking about. Gothic Lolita is different too the Harajuku style Gwen wears. Gothic Lolita, consists of wearing mainly black and incorporating black lace, frills and layers. Harajuku is what Gwen wears, not an inch of black.
And its not 10-year-old Japanese trends, it has been around for ages and is worn by teenagers.
And yes it is expensive, but anyone wanting to get the style can do so easily with imitation. Its just not fashionable to most people hence the lack of people wearing it.
Not everyone has too covet their favourite celebrities style.
I think she is very original,her gold platforms were towering & sexy i think no current female singer has the guts to wear what she wears.
