The Golden Globes Part 1
It’s Golden Globes time, which means another day of celebrity shoe envy. The problem with red-carpet award ceremonies like this is that women insist on wearing dresses so long they cover their shoes (it’s sacrilege, we know…) but we’ve still tried out best to find the best of the night. It was a night filled with very few fashion faux-pas (shame) where women were concerned (though Regina King, what happened?).
Oddly, the men took the lead in the 'bad shoe choice' stakes. First there was composer Hans Zimmer, a true Hugh Heffner in the making, who chose to turn up in his slippers (monogram, of course). Then there was what was possibly the biggest faux-pas of the evening. However, this faux-pas was at the bottom of the trouser legs of Johnny Depp, and as far as we’re concerned, Johnny can do no wrong. Even in spats.
So in honour of Johnny, from now on we're going to embrace 20s / 30s nostalgia. Natalie Portman did, and she won a Globe. Nice shoes, too. Still can't decide if we like the dress...
