Ugly Shoe of the Week #2

Fugly2 Bronx Shoes 'H5301' (in Black Leather) These $98 wonders of footwear are described as 'chic and sexy t-strap mules'. Ok then! Are we the only ones who're a bit freaked out by the turned up pixie-like toes? We know pixie shoes were 'in' last year, but even then, this would be taking it a little bit too far...

Oscar Shoe Prediction #1

Oscar1 The most recent Jimmy Choo evening collection is full of beautiful jewel encrusted shoes that are just crying out to be worn to the Oscars, but they need a really glam star to carry them off. We’re sure these stunning copper and sapphire ’Ghost’ sandals will be worn by someone at the Academy Awards, the question is who? Our money is on Renee Zellweger, who's famous with us for her beloved gold Choo's, or Scarlett Johansson, who wore the label at last year's awards.

Celebs in nothing but their Choo's!

ChoocelebCelebs including Kate Moss, Christina Aguilera, Paris Hilton, Victoria Beckham and Sarah Ferguson have been posing for photographer Pamela Hanson in nothing but a pair of Jimmy Choo's and Cartier jewellery. It's all for a charity book called 'Four Inches' (and before you get any ideas, the name refers to the height of the stiletto heel). It's the brainchild of Jimmy Choo president Tamara Mellon, and funds raised will go to the Elton John Aids Foundation. The book comes out in May, but the April issue of Tatler will be running some of the photographs if you want a sneak peek!

A Turquoise Trip

TanthropTurquoise is one of those recurring trends that seems to crop up every other season. Last time it was really big was when Cameron Diaz wore turquoise jewellery to the 2002 Oscars with her red floral Ungaro dress. Three years later (almost to the day!), and the coolest way to wear the trend is on your feet, with these Anthropologie 'Bluestone' sandals ($218). The shop's suggested match, the 'Breezy' skirt, is the perfect way to compliment them.

Come back Uggs, all is forgiven!

UggsWe've been driven mad by Mukluks. We're constantly staring in horror at girls with the contents of a rabbit hutch wrapped around their ankles. So it came as an odd breath of fresh air to see someone looking fabulous in a pair of classic tall Uggs ($130) this weekend. Yes, we know, Uggs are out, Yeti's are in, but we have to wonder whether the wearers of some of these crazy furry boots are in posession of a full-length mirror. At least with Uggs you stand a slight chance of looking ok (in a Heat Magazine-reading, footballer's wife kind of way). We're slowly falling for the lilac ones. Worn pulled up with slimline jeans and a winter coat, they actually look quite cute.

Juicy Couture Flip-flops

JuicyffGenerally, we believe that wearing Juicy Couture should be left to Jessica Simpson and Paris Hilton, but we must confess to loving their flipflops in a heart-shaped container ($40) which doubles as a carrier. It's not that we haven't seen these punch-out flipflops before, but these ones are in a heart. It's still February, so in theory we can still use Valentines Day as a tenuous link to why we're showing flipflops while it's snowing outside...

Well(ie) in there

Thwellies The whole fad for multicoloured wellies has always seemed just that - a fad, and something best avoided at any cost. But then last night the snow began to fall and it suddenly seemed less of a stupid idea to buy a pair of waterproof, scuff-free boots (especially when mommy Shoewawa tempted fate by leaving a note saying 'maybe you should buy some wellies?'). The best funky styles come from Tamara Henriques (who has an ex-vogue pedigree).  Shown are the Blue Swirl Hunter, and Pink Toile Kitten. That's right, she makes kitten heeled wellies. Most styles retail at about £50. For stores, click here.
