With winter just around the corner, everyone's thoughts in the shoe world turn to boots. As much as I love my peep-toes and wedges, it's time to send them to the back of the wardrobe until spring rolls around again. So, boots. There's a lot of different styles out there, so where do you know to start? Well, think of the one thing you want from a boot, and work from there. My personal numero uno preference is something that works just as well to the office as to a Christmas party, so these gorgeous 'Minuet' from Faith fit the bill perfectly. They're £140, but they'll last forever. [Toni Stokes]
Once upon a time, I was the champion of saying that anything by Pucci was horrible. I found the prints too bright, too out there, too 70s (and not in a good way). I have, however, over recent months had to change my mind and 'fess up that I genuinely like several shoes from the Pucci line, starting with these lovely jeweled slides that are effortlessly chic. Sadly, they're not cheap, with a price tag of $525, but a girl can dream. Back to buying those lottery tickets... [Toni Stokes]
Hello again all. For one day only, I'm back doing a few posts here whilst Gemma's off having fun at a wedding (sorry, no, I don't know what shoes she ended up picking!). I'm starting with news of vivaladiva.com's 70% off sale. 70%! Sadly, most end of season sales are just that: companies trying to rid themselves of all of the previous season's looks, and although there's bargains to be had, you could end up making the ultimate fashion faux pas and wearing last summer's shoes in 2006! Fortunately, these gorgeous satin pumps from Olivia Morris are timelessly chic, and have been reduced from a tear-dropping £259 to a jaw-dropping £77.49. View the other sale items by clicking here. As those of you who helped me pick my shoes will already know, I'm off to a wedding today which means fewer posts than usual. But I'll be thinking of you all while I'm off throwing confetti in my champagne coloured D'Orsays, and I haven't forgotten that today is eBay day. Since I have weddings on the brain, this week's finds are all bridal shoes - but if you happen to like white satin [...insert cheesy 'nights in white satin' joke here...], they might be suitable for other occasions too.

Three words to explain why these $189 Via Spiga 'Idona' clogs are our Ugly Shoe this week. They're not slippers. You're actually expected to wear these things outside. Possibly not in the company of anyone who has an iota of taste, because though they might be quite fun to wear with your dressing gown on Christmas day, I can't think why anyone would wear them as shoes. The clog heel. The velvet upper. The faux fur trim...when did Narnia chic become stylish?
Since it's Thursday, and thus Ugly Shoe day, I like to address the balance with something gorgeous, so once you've had your fight with the vomit upon seeing the fuglies we've found this week, you can console yourself with some pretties. This week they're by Delman, who're proving they don't just do flats with these amazing Swarovski-studded sandals. You know you've spent too long looking at designer shoes when you see a $395 price tag and think 'ooh, that's reasonable!'

This £369 'Maya' wedge sums up entirely why I find Georgina Goodman such an intriguing shoe designer. She doesn't go for the obvious, which is probably why Manolo Blahnik described her as "the future of shoe design". Many designers make beautiful shoes, but they're copied within five minutes by high street chains. Meanwhile there's no mistaking this as a Georgina Goodman design, and you won't find anything like it in Miss Selfridge. Whether you love it or hate it, you have to admire the creativity.
