Ok, shoe fans. I've found you purple suede boots, I've scoured the 'net for the last few pairs of Amerie's Gucci shoes, and I've sought out the funkiest snow shoes. Now it's your turn to help me. I'm giving you a rare peek into my shoe collection today. I don't usually do this (too scared of a "she wears those and then tries to give us advice" backlash...) but I'm desperate. I'm off to a wedding tomorrow and I can't decide which shoes to wear. They both go with my outfit, so now I need your help. Do I go for the peep-toe snakeskin heels or the toe-cleavage D'Orsays? More pictures behind the cut...

Hi! I'm a huge fan of your blog, but I was wondering if you can point out any trendy, but still relatively cheap, boots for those of us who live in, say, snowy Canada and need something for trekking across the snow. All the boots I like seem to be suede or leather! - Erin
Erin, I'm sorry! I do have a tendency to forget not all Shoe fans live in the kind of climate that suits impractical shoes! Luckily for you, moon boots are still stylish this season and you're one of the few who can actually wear them with a valid reason! Various designers have come up with insulated boots sky-high prices (the Dior ones above are US$295). but for something more affordable, eBay is full of Gola's pink design from last season (centre). Most of the auctions ship worldwide and the boots are selling for about CAN$70. Don't expect them to be as hardwearing as the proper snow shoes you'll get in specialist shops, but they're a lot more exciting! If you need something more practical, the black Baffin boots are available at SoftMoc for US$55.
It's voting time again! I keep spotting these £350 boots from Scorah Pattullo in magazines, and though they look funky all dressed up with yarn and knitting needles in craft-inspired shoots, do they really stand up to the test of being wearable? Or nice? Love them? Hate them? Think they should be left solely to Harajuku girls and 'quirky' art students? Can a normal woman really wear them? You have your say. The press love them, but do the public? Price aside, sweater-esque knitted boots - yay or nay?
One our our (and your) favourite online shoe shops, Viva La Diva, have just added a huge list of fantastic new brands to their already fabulous range. Joining the impressive roster of high-end shoe designers are Dior, Prada, Prada Sport, Sergio Rossi, YSL, D&G and Gina, while must-have brands like D-Havz and Ugg are now part of the boutique section of the site. There's only a limited number of styles to choose from at the moment so get in there quick! I've already got my eye on these Dior courts. I'm a sucker for silver shoes!
I will be visiting London next month (from the antipodes) and I'd like to buy my wife a pair of good quality, classically designed boots. While I don't mind paying for quality construction, design or materials, I do not want to pay designer label prices for something flimsy, badly made or anything that will be out of fashion by Christmas. What is coming up in the winter collections, and where do you recommend shopping in London? - Dave
Lucky Mrs Dave! Where's the man willing to buy me a new pair of boots? Designers and retailers seem to be adopting an 'anything goes' approach to boots, so you can get away with just about anything. I've come up with a list of some of my favourites, they suit all budgets and emcompass most of the key trends without being over the top, so hopefully there's something here that'll be perfect for your missus! Read on for more! (buckled boot, right, £95 Topshop).

In her music video for '1 Thing' Amerie wears two great pairs of shoes with studs and decoration on the heels. I really want the gold pair, and I don't care how much they cost! Any idea who designed them? - Nisha
Nisha, the shoes are last season, I'm afraid, so they're quite difficult to get hold of now we're moving into Autumn / Winter. The glam gold shoes were Gucci's 'Goa' design. They were a sell-out, so your best bet is eBay, where they're selling for around $500 a pair. There is a similar peep-toe version too, and they can still be found at StyleDrops for $329. There's only one pair left as I write this, though!
I never expected to find retro film star shoes in the Littlewoods catalogue, but this just proves anything is possible. These shoes are actually by London shoemakers Shelly's, but are sold via LX Direct for £64 (£54 if you order online). Though they're named after Audrey Hepburn, the platform and t-bar means they're more 1940s-inspired than anything else, making them perfect for the winter season. Get them before Jennifer Love Hewitt does!
