A little birdie told me that there's snow forecast for the weekend here in Blighty, which means one thing - a great excuse to talk about girlie wellies! If you haven't splashed out in a pair of Hunters (a la Kate) or lace-up Tretorns (a la Gwyneth), the how about some of these patterned rainboots from Boden. They're £49 in three retro floral patterns.
The latest incarnation of Pedro Garcia's signature frayed satin shoe is great for this time of year. The platform D'Orsay has a closed-in peep-toe that can be worn with tights, so you can wear them with skirts even on cold days when bare legs just aren't an option. For designer shoes, they're very reasonably priced at £150. Move fast though, some sizes are already sold out at Net-a-Porter.
If you've been loving the fluffy, furry strapped-up boots that are around at the moment but you want something more dressy and feminine, these £65 suede boots from LX Direct are perfect. They've got the warm faux-fur trim and leather lacing you'll find on other suede boots, but with a 3" heel and slim shape, making them much easier to wear with skirts and dresses. That said, they'll still go perfectly over jeans.
I've had a couple of requests from people to find these platform courts, which have been spotted on Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. The red sole gives away the designer - they're Christian Louboutin creations, and the style is Bruges ($735), which comes with a stacked wood or a cork heel (Jessica Simpson has worn the cork ones). I can't find the style for sale online anywhere but eBay (where there's a black cork pair in a 39.5 and red cork pair in a 38.5). Rumours suggest it's sold out but you could give your local stockist a call to check.
Dorothy Perkins have just added a great new selection of boots to their online shoe shop. These black slouchy foldover boots are £80 in black or tan leather, and there are also some great low heeled buckle detail boots, some buckled wedges and a gorgeous lace-up Victorian knee-high boot in chocolate or black. Every pair is under £100, which is great for leather knee highs, and in my experience, Dotty P's shoes tend to be quite sturdy and comfy considering how cheap they are.
Can you believe that tomorrow is the first anniversary of the official launch of Shoewawa? We've really been going a whole year, and it absolutely astounds me that I've been ranting on about shoes for so long and still haven't run out of things to talk about!
To celebrate our birthday, we're launching a big competition. We've got loads of great shoe-related prizes to give away, so make sure you stop by to check out the details tomorrow afternoon!

Yet more velvet shoes for you (no, it never ends), this time from Principles. They've knocked £10 off the price of these embroidered ankle straps, making them a very reasonable £40. They also come in a rather lovely (if slightly less wearable) red colourway. Sizes are limited so click that link quickly if you want to get yourself a pair.
