Yay or Nay Wednesday

Yaynay11Thanks to all those who cast their votes on last week's shoe. We had a record number of responses, and the designer has been checking back to see what you all had to say! Now onto this week's shoe, and something completely different! I've chosen quite a classic shape this week, but the textured fabric and metallic heels give it a twist. As always, designer and price is revealed this time next week. For now I just want to know - Yay or Nay, and why?

very me

Hmm this week it's a toughy but I think I have to say Nay. I think for "classic" designers should stop reading "dull". This shoe would be beautiful in crocodile skin or sexy tan leather like the pair that hot man-stealing Ms Jolie was wearing last week.

They wouldn't be too bad without that horrid metallic heel which I personally feel always leaves a shoe looking cheap. (And soo red or dead 4 years ago!)

Yay, but I won't wear them. The gold heels and the classic shape are a good mix, but in the end I found them too loud for me...

Posted by: Clem | November 23, 2005 3:42 PM

Definately YAY! I most of the time wear capri jeans with boots but this is very nice under long jeans and a basic shirt. I love the colour combination! I would buy them

Posted by: aimée | November 23, 2005 4:38 PM

Nay. It is actually quite nice, up until the cheap looking gold heel. Perhaps if it was more of a brushed metal? I don't know, it just looks too garish for me.

I say YAY! The vintage look of the material is what I found most appealling, it kind of has that raoring 20's look. This shoe is also versatile: you could pair these with some capri's or jeans but they would also take you to an evening/formal look. I like.

YAY, because I love the shape with the side cut-outs, I love the striped look and I am a big fan of that colour. I can even live with the heel since it doesn't look to me as all that SHINY.

Posted by: Andreea | November 23, 2005 5:14 PM

Ooh, I think they're beautiful! The gold heel doesn't turn me on but it doesn't turn me off enough to say no. The shape and the fabric are gorgous; classic yet different. I agree with Joanna that the heel would be better in a brushed metal. Yay overall.

A definite yay for me ! Yes, it's a classic shoe, but you can wear it with a lot of things, even though the gold heels put me off at first :)

Yay - I love the cutouts, the stripes and the rich brown color. They're relatively subtle but interesting, I'd wear them with jeans.

Posted by: circus | November 23, 2005 7:01 PM

Yay (though not by much). They are a bit much with a ll the stripes and the cut-outs and the gold, but the classic style makes them a bit more subtle. With the right outfit (and a girl with enough moxie), they could be great.

Yay. It's gorgeous although I have a love-hate thing with the metallic heal. It can make a shoe cheap, but I think the remainder of it is so gorgeous that the heal gets away without being cheap. Bronze might've been better?

Posted by: Tom | November 23, 2005 7:26 PM

I'll give them a yay with reservations. I would like to see them in person. There is strong possibility they would just look cheap up close.

Posted by: Mindy | November 23, 2005 7:42 PM

Yay!! Great color, difficult to find brown shoes that go with everything! I don't mind the gold heel, it avoids a boring shoe.

Posted by: Jessica | November 23, 2005 8:28 PM

Yay! very much! classic with a bit of a kick, I do hope they aren't too expensive.....

Posted by: Kathryn | November 23, 2005 9:49 PM

Yay! I think they're gorgeous and the gold heel is fun.

Posted by: Badger | November 24, 2005 1:46 AM

NAY. I don't like them at all.

Posted by: Ashley | November 24, 2005 5:31 AM

leaning towards yay... they color is very vintage-y

Posted by: julie | November 24, 2005 7:57 AM

Hot - YAY!

Posted by: Sally | November 24, 2005 9:34 AM

Yay! I'm not sure quite why, but I like them.

Posted by: Anna | November 24, 2005 12:01 PM

i want them. i know a perfect skirt to go with them - it lives in my wardrobe.
oh let me have them, please. i am a size 6.
big yay!!!

Posted by: cc | November 24, 2005 12:11 PM

"As is" nay - with some minor alterations yay. The gold heel looks too plasticy and cheap. If the designer had used something that looked either like real gold or an antique gold/bronze I think it would look better and possibly be a bit more versatile. If I had these in my closet I would probably be looking at permanent paints at the craft store to make that alteration. :)

Posted by: Hilary | November 24, 2005 12:13 PM

Definitely a YAY! I think they're beautiful, so what if the carpet is reflected in the heel as least its not up your skirt!

Posted by: Fabienne | November 24, 2005 1:48 PM

Ah, nay. really grannyish. like a granny who still feels sexy. but really shouldn't.

Posted by: Johanna | November 24, 2005 6:13 PM

YAY! I lovw them, with my brown suit trousers and a nice gold top, I'd be ready for a night out!

Posted by: Angel | November 24, 2005 8:09 PM

yay, those are really nice.

Posted by: Shelly | November 24, 2005 8:26 PM

Yay but not on me - could look tacky

Posted by: Deb | November 24, 2005 10:36 PM

Very Very YAY! what a quality pair of shoes, very me

Posted by: Suzi | November 24, 2005 11:12 PM

yay.... but the right outfit and person has to pull them together. could look tacky or trying too hard on the wrong person...

Posted by: lily | November 25, 2005 5:36 AM

Sexy, yet classy. Interesting, yet understated. They have a personality, yet you could wear them without them taking over your entire outfit. I think we have a winner. A definite YAY from me.

Posted by: Rach | November 25, 2005 11:24 AM

Definitely YAH! I love them and have the perfect brown skirt and gold top to go with them - but will they stand up to hours of partying!!! And I bet they're way outside my price range!!

Posted by: Lynn | November 25, 2005 1:45 PM

Nay. The gold heel is just a bit too much, and I'm really not for the side cutouts.

Posted by: Stacy | November 26, 2005 10:25 PM

i say yah, theyre lovely, i would buy them. they would look fab with jeans as well as skirts and trousers.

Posted by: den | December 5, 2005 11:30 PM

nay, the claasic shape isn't bad but the gold heel reeks cheap
