Giuseppe Zanotti's $750 embellished d'Orsay is a strange combination of casual and formal. The uppers are perfect Academy Awards footwear, in gold metallic leather topped with hundreds of clear faceted stones. But then you come to the soles, which are lined with denim, and the stacked wooden heels, which are far more MTV awards than Oscars. The question is, are these a clever combo of two different looks, or an awkward attempt at covering too many bases at once?
