Yay or Nay Wednesday

KorsplatsAfter a Christmas break, Yay or Nay is back! Sadly, that short break meant the shoes from last time (Carmen Marc Valvo heels from Neiman Marcus) sold out before I could reveal them! That's what I get for picking out designer shoes just before the sales, I suppose. Moving on to this week, I've gone for a Spring trend - the platform - in these belt detail pumps in black or camel suede. You know what to do...Yay or Nay, and why?

Hate the brown, love the black like it were my own child. But alas i'll never wear this shoe affordable or not because at 5'11" i'd look like Lily Savage in such high heels. Boo Hoo.

Those are DIVINE.

Yay!!! Very dressy!!! I would buy them in both colors, I`m kind of short.

Ooh, yay, very pretty, though I'm not struck on the black platform/heel with the brown. I still like them though.

YAY!! I like both the brown and the black. I probably prefer the brown. I think they're both kinda dressy and yet sorta casual too.

I'm in love with the heel. Platforms are the way to go, I'm actually obsessed with a platform that Marni put out recently. However, I'm not so into the belting detail. I look forward to seeing what other platforms you find!!!

Nay. Big clumpy shoes.

Posted by: Mindy | January 4, 2006 6:17 PM

Yay! The black ones are beautiful!

Posted by: sanna | January 4, 2006 6:43 PM

Yay, they remind me of the Olsen twin's louboutin pumps a little bit. A popular style. However I am slightly turned off by the "belt buckle" over the front. Still, could be worked into an outfit to make it interesting and unique. I say YAY! :)

Oh what a yay!! I love big chunky shoes they're just sooooo fabby and whoever doesn't agree will have me to answer to :P

yay on the black, but I'm not sure about the silver buckle with the brown. Would prefer bronze or brown leather.

Posted by: oliviacw | January 4, 2006 7:35 PM

A resounding YAY! Same thoughts on the silver over brown combo. I hope they have other colors.

Posted by: Marie | January 4, 2006 7:54 PM

Black! Yay!! (I'm 5'10, and I'm proud to wear my 4 and even 5-inchers! Stand tall in fabulous heels!) ;-D

Hrm. If the strap is metallic, big ol' nay; and the black platform on the brown shoe makes me think it's all a nay, anyway. Like the shape, but it's a Nay nonetheless.

Yay, but more lukewarm than last week. I do like the 2-part platforms better than wedge platforms. This one is better (& what a deal):

I love the black pair, they are cool with a pair of skinny jeans and a black blouse!

Posted by: christine | January 4, 2006 9:42 PM

yay!! the belt buckle is cute!

Posted by: Joanie | January 4, 2006 10:33 PM

Definite Yay! There is not one thing wrong with them.

Posted by: Trisha | January 4, 2006 11:27 PM

Lavly- so sexy. YAY x 100.

Posted by: Sophie | January 4, 2006 11:57 PM

"Nay" on the camel/silver combo. Mixing warm and cool neutrals like that is really hard to pull off, and these fall well short of the mark. However, proof that the shoe itself is not bad comes with the black -- much nicer, and a definite "yay."

Yay on design. Double Yay on the buckle (I'm ALWAYS down for a buckle for some reason). But I have this feeling I'd be tottering all over the place on them. They look like sit-and-look-pretty shoes, but not "it's only 3 blocks, why spend on a cab?" shoes at all!

Posted by: Heidi | January 5, 2006 4:38 AM

I feel like I should say nay, but dammit I love them. Being 5ft 3, platforms always appeal. YAY. The sole and heel do look a bit cheap though.

Posted by: Kat | January 5, 2006 9:34 AM

Yay, I would try these on and totter around in them - very fab!

Posted by: Deb | January 5, 2006 9:45 AM

Big 'ol yey! I love those big shoes!

Posted by: Lindisen | January 5, 2006 10:05 AM

I'm lukewarm on the cognac and totally yay on the black ones. However, I happen to know what these are (I have them on my Zappos favorites list although they are only available in camel, size 10), and then I tracked down the pic you used and found that the black completely sold out, so I think you are very cruel to do such a thing to us! Because as you can see we all love the black ones and they were even reasonably priced.

Posted by: Tara | January 5, 2006 3:12 PM

Nay, they remind me of hooker shoes :S

Posted by: Radina | January 6, 2006 7:40 AM

Yay! I love cute shoes with platform soles!! :)

Posted by: Sally | January 6, 2006 9:44 AM

Nay, they're hideous!

Posted by: Ally | January 6, 2006 2:58 PM

yay in the black, ambivilent about the tan
a smidge too high but the velvet is gorgeous

Posted by: TriBecca | January 7, 2006 2:08 AM

A very enthusiastic Yay methinks!! Loving the black style especially, but a little unsure on the tan shoe/black platform/silver detail colour combo, could possibly be too many colours in one go, but hey, I'd still give em' a whirl.....

Posted by: Sophie Warr | January 8, 2006 6:30 PM

yay! these are sooo cool, i prefer the black ones.

Posted by: hana | January 10, 2006 2:15 PM

YAY! They are dressy yet fun - and I am in need of any and all platforms made!

Posted by: earlofcheese | January 13, 2006 6:21 PM

Nay. Thick soles, which i dislike. It has a very ugly buckle and, once more, thick heel which i also do not like at all.

Posted by: Elz | January 14, 2006 10:57 PM

nay, too clunky, looks Rupaulish
