Yay or Nay Wednesday

Wedgeyn There were surprisingly mixed views on last week's uber-girly flower covered sandals, which (for those of you who don't know already) were by Rene Caovilla. Can I remind you all again NOT to mention the designer if you know it! It spoils the point of judging based solely on the look and not the label. Thankyouplease. Moving on to this week, and I think I know what might be coming with this studded leather wedge, but let's wait and see. Yay or Nay, and why?

Nay - not if you paid me.

    YAY.

I am surprising myself, but I think I'd wear these. The key would be to wear them with a non-biker outfit (like an austere business suit, for example) and let them be the surprise element. Kind of fun. They look handmade, which I like.

It can be so hard to imagine what a shoe would look like on the foot, but I am guessing these would look TONS better on.

I like the heels and the detailing, but the toe ruins it for me. Just makes them look so.... matronly.

    Nay.

Nay. The heel is all lumpy and what's the little leather studded strap on the side all about? If the heel was narrower, perhaps with a little cut-away on the sole to make it look more heel-ish, then I could let them off with the embossed design. Studs should never be used on anything without the pre-fix 'goth'. Also, not too keen on the matt finish.

Ugh. Nay. The fussy embellishment is clearly supposed to make it less boring and clunky, but it fails.
