Steve Madden's Louboutin style 'Maritime' Espadrille

MaritimeMany thanks to Melissa for giving me a nudge where these espadrilles are concerned. They're Steve Madden's 'Maritime' style, and a dead ringer for the Christian Louboutin platforms worn by Carmen Electra a while ago. They're too high and clunky for me, but Madden seems to be doing a good line in Louboutin-inspired shoes at the moment and is obviously on to a good thing. You'd be pushed to tell the difference from a distance, wouldn't you? Maritime is available in five colours for $129.95.

These shoes are ON SALE for $39 RIGHT NOW on Steve Madden.com. Hurrryyyy!!!!! I just bought 2 pairs. They are still $130 at Nordstrom and Zappos so get them at Steve Madden. I'll see if I can walk in them,ha!

I don't like the Steve Madden or the Louboutin version. It's too bulky, and would look very frankenstein-ish on someone with small calfs like myself. It just takes the clean simple style of a classic espadrille over the top. Ann Taylor and BCBGirl has a much nicer version of the classic espadrille from the 70s. Don't buy into "trendy" versions of a shoe because by next summer you will see alot of these on Ebay selling for $15.
