Yay or Nay Wednesday - Faith vs Prada

FaithpradaI'm going to tell you where this week's Yay or Nay shoes are from. I have visions of them selling out in the next week and my getting hundreds of emails from Prada fans who want these because they look so much like the pink peep toes we've been raving about for months. So, these are the £45 'Lutton' shoes from Faith...and I want to know if you like 'em or not. Are they a good budget alternative? Or were the Prada ones ugly too? You know the drill, Yay or Nay and why?

OMG! These are a hundred times nicer than the prada ones....i thought the prada ones were a bit clinical looking, but these are byoootiful!
YAY!

Posted by: IoneLou | May 17, 2006 6:09 PM

hmm...I don't think that I would personally wear them, but they're pretty cute (I like them more than the Prada ones), so I'll give them a yay. Not 100% sold on the color, though - looks very skin tone-ish...

Posted by: anna | May 17, 2006 6:25 PM

Nay. They're a bit too busy for my taste (slingbacks, quasi-Mary Janes and peep toes all in one shoe).

Posted by: Melanie | May 17, 2006 6:36 PM

YAY!! Love them!!

Posted by: Sarah-Jean | May 17, 2006 6:42 PM

YAY! Me likey! Love the color. Those on my toes will make my gams go on for miles....! Now if only I could find in the States.

Posted by: ShoeGurl | May 17, 2006 6:53 PM

Pink shoes. Nay.

Posted by: Mindy | May 17, 2006 7:14 PM

Love them! Just perfect for all those 50s sun dresses I've also got my eyes on!

Posted by: Dramadora | May 17, 2006 8:03 PM

Yay, they are such a cute shoe! I like the Pradas as well, but these are certainly far more attainable. Although the color is not my fave, I really like the patent material, piping, and little button. Adorable overall.

Posted by: iheartpink | May 17, 2006 9:15 PM

i wouldnt wear them myself but they are a million x nicer than the prada 1s

Posted by: Anna S. | May 17, 2006 9:29 PM

Defintely Yay! I like the whimsical pink-ness of Prada, but this would be easier to carry off as a summer work shoe.

Posted by: Steph | May 17, 2006 10:11 PM

I love them... you're mean, now I have to go and spend more money on shoes =[

Posted by: Julia | May 17, 2006 10:18 PM

Nay- messing too much with a good thing. Those don't work with slingbacks AND a peep toe.

Posted by: kim | May 17, 2006 10:55 PM

YAY! I like both the Pradas and these. This color is great & very wearable.

Posted by: rose | May 17, 2006 11:13 PM

oh my lord
do you even have to ask?

YAY i love them

theyre better than the topshop ones you suggested

Posted by: Sharmin | May 17, 2006 11:31 PM

Yay! I'm not absolutely positive I'd actually wear them, but I would look enviously at people who did. And I like the shape of the toe better on these ones.

Posted by: Fionna | May 18, 2006 12:54 AM

Yay. They're pretty albeit as painful as the Prada ones seem to be. Otherwise a pretty close replica reasonably priced.

Posted by: Scarpediem | May 18, 2006 1:00 AM

I never thought I'd hear myself say this, nor that everyone else would agree with me, but I MUCH prefer the Faith copy than the original Pradas! The peep toe is more rounded, the strap is right at the front instead of higher up and makes it look cuter, and the slingback is also nicer, obviously the faiths do seem cheaper in material, but there must be at least one reason why anyone would shell out so much for the originals..

Posted by: Marta | May 18, 2006 1:20 AM

YAY! :] they are a whole lot more agreeable than the prada ones... i would definitely wear/buy them :)

Posted by: shii | May 18, 2006 2:51 AM

Oh. My. God. YAY!! I'm having a heart attack over these. They're not as cute as the Prada pair but I still love them!

Posted by: Claire | May 18, 2006 3:03 AM

yay - i actually think these are cuter than the pink ones with a more rounded toe.

Posted by: thuy | May 18, 2006 6:24 AM

yay, very nice and conservative but very very sexy. And flattering too.

Posted by: lilimj | May 18, 2006 8:44 AM

Yay. Clean and simple. Would probably wear to a wedding. Mind you, I'd still wait for the Faith sale to buy them 'cause I'm MEAN.

Posted by: Arnez | May 18, 2006 9:34 AM

Yay, I actually think they'd be quite versatile, although I'm not the world's biggest fan f the slingback.

Posted by: Anna | May 18, 2006 10:02 AM

Have to say Nay...Pink perhaps harder to wear but Prada shoe far better design - Getting a bit fed up with seeing so many high street 'knock-offs' of good designer shoes - it's a bit like buying a fake Louis Vuitton, et al. bag off the market!

Posted by: kitty angel | May 18, 2006 10:35 AM

Yay!! I'm off to cop me a pair! they are hott and def a v.good copy of the prada ones.

Posted by: tordiva | May 18, 2006 10:40 AM

Yay! They look a good copy and a cheap way to update your wardrobe - I'm out of the door to get a pair!

Posted by: Deb | May 18, 2006 10:43 AM

Definitely a YAY! I prefer them over the Prada ones as the peeptoe is a nicer shape and the colour is much nicer, too! Go, Faith, go!

Posted by: verystef | May 18, 2006 11:02 AM

wow!

yay!

please stop doing this to me my (prada) purse cant cope.

Posted by: ANNA HAYMAN | May 18, 2006 2:44 PM

YAY! I like them more than the Prada's also. The lower Mary Jane strap is cuter...

Posted by: Renee | May 18, 2006 4:14 PM

Yay. In fact, I'm so much in the yay category, I'm honestly having a hard time understanding how anyone could vote nay on these. I especially like the black round button detailing on the toe and strap. Pulls the whole shoe together. Absolutely perfect with warm weather suits and vintage inspired dresses.

Posted by: Suzanne | May 18, 2006 4:46 PM

Yay! Much nicer than the Prada shoe.

Posted by: Camilla C | May 18, 2006 4:54 PM

It's a yay from me - there's something about them that's grabbing me and saying "Buy me for the wedding in August" - and you know what? I may just listen to that voice... now to find a dress to go with them!

Posted by: Emily | May 18, 2006 4:59 PM

NO no no no no.. That's all I got to say !!! :)

Posted by: nicola | May 18, 2006 5:30 PM

d the Pradas, don't like these. I think the design is just too busy, and people would be staring at the godawful shade of yellow on your feet instead of your outfit. A good shoe should never take away from the clothes, so that's why this is a NAY.

Posted by: Madeline | May 18, 2006 10:35 PM

Madeline, I think you need to adjust your monitor settings. They're pinkish beige!

Posted by: Ms Shoewawa | May 19, 2006 12:31 AM

Nay. I hate the triple combination of peep-toe, mary jane strap and sling back. It's just too much. Without the mary jane strap, they'd be adorable though.

Posted by: Shuzluva | May 19, 2006 2:23 PM

These shoes look funny against the white background of this site. But on feet, it's a different matter, and the prada ones certainly look charming. However, I'm NAYing these, because when you have a design as precarious as this, you absolutely CANNOT go cheap. Wearing cheap versions of the avant-garde high-street just never works out well. NAY!

Posted by: Rachael | May 20, 2006 9:14 AM

I do beleive that those pink Prada ones are too "Summer-06": if you buy them now, next season everybody knows they're last-season Prada. so any alternative will be better anyway.

Posted by: Julia | May 21, 2006 4:44 PM

Nay. There's just too much going on. I mean, a peep toe, sling-back /and/ mary-jane style strap? If you took out one of the elements, I would definitely be in love! But right now, they just don't do it for me.
