Melissa / Campana Jelly Shoes (you have been warned)

CampanaBefore we go any further, let me just say I don't condone the purchase of these. They're jelly, and therefore they're wrong. However, I'm here to provide a service and this post from March 2005 is still one of the most visited pages on the site (you bunch of nutters highly appreciated, wonderful visitors). So for those of you looking to purchase the Melissa / Campana jelly sandals, Yoox.com is the place to go. The pink are £44, orange are £30.

I know, I know and I agree with you about jelly shoes but they are made of recycled lastic and I got some in black last year and they are very comfortable and one of the few pairs of high shoes that I can walk in for any length of time and I did buy them before I started to read shoewawa! Even though the pink ones are calling me I will resist I will resist!!!

I think moderate use of jelly materials can be okay; they mold well to the foot and are very comfortable. Jelly flipflops for the beach, for example, would be great. But I don't think this is the right style for jelly, which is a shame, because otherwise it is a really cute shoe! I think if this style were done in tweed with a lot of lacey cutouts it would be awesome.

I think these are uglier than the Ugly Shoe of the Week this week. Blech.

The thing is, they'd be so cute if the uppers were made from raffia, yum.

I feel like I've seen these before, but in green and expensive designer. Am I crazy?

I must admit, they are not as bad as they look. I have owned shoes by Melissa before - and they were an AWESOME investment. Super cute, super commented on, people actually *liked* the jelly ness of them, and thought they were pretty cool. I was surprised at how comfortable they were, as well as the fact that they did NOT make my feet smell, or give me blisters.

Not bad. And I have to say -- check out the INSANE CRAZY MAD jelly boots with dangly bits they have on their website. Now those are nuts!
