How Do You Wear Booties?
Little ankle shoeboots might be the shoe to be seen in this Autumn, but how exactly do you show them off without looking like a fashion victim? Well, it's a toughie but it can be done. Your first rule of thumb (unless you're auditioning for Footloose, the Musical) is to put the leggings down. Black opaque tights are a better option, topped with something simple on the top half - a slinky knitted sweater dress or a 60s shift. Add a cropped jacket or a belted mac, and you're on your way. These slouchy booties are £65 at Topshop.

May sound odd, but i wear dark denim tight-ish turnups with mine. Something slightly vintagey-pinuppish about the overall effect. The turn-ups make sure you get to see the entire bootie in all of its glory.

Sounds very chic Lou. To be honest I'm still having trouble getting used to the idea of wearing ankle boots at all after so many years of being a slave to my knee-highs, but I'll get there!

Oh god, Gemma, remember how I said I would never ever succomb to this latest fashion craze involving 80s ankle boots? And you said 'oh yes you will young Katherine, for I am the shoe fairy mwhahaha' etc?
Well I am utterly fantasising about these grey boots. I want them in purple to match the purple 60s shift from Oasis that you've got me eyeing off as well!
My bank manager hates you, needless to say.

I got a pair of grey ankle boots for 50p from a car boot sale last year (smug smug). Grey leather will always remind me of Kel from Kath and Kim, but thats a good thing.
I wear them with jeans, and will try the turn up thing, but my legs are too twig-like to contemplate wearing with skirts.

Like Isabelle My twigs would not look good in these boots save with my jeans, yes the turn up makes them look great. I ot mine in a charity shop in Kensington for £15.00. Black suede with a side buckle. Looking forward to the cooler days to give me the excuse to wear them with lolg leather coat.

Isabelle - love the Kel reference! Kath & Kim is one of my favourite shoes, and you're so right and grey leather being reminiscent of him.
I actually bought these grey Topshop boots this morning, they are so heavenly.

I saw an identical pair of these boots at Qube.. wasn't able to check the price, but I made a note to tell you lot here, in case you're wanting them, but can't find them at Topshop :))
