Dune 'Vowel' Dogtooth Check Pumps

Dune_3 Now, here's a dogtooth check I have no reservations about whatsoever. It's "Vowel" by Dune, and it's much more subtle than those River Island peep toes, that's for sure. I love the shape of these, love the little red bow and the dashes of red throughout the pattern. I love everything, in fact, except the price, which, at £75 is a little more than we're used to paying on the British high street. Nothing to stop me admiring them from the safety of the computer screen, though, is there?

Thanks Amber and Ms. Shoewawa for answering, I am definitley going to TopShop!:P

  • Carnaby Street is definitely not what it was, but it's still worth visiting if only for the B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful Parfumerie. Gorgeous little place! There's also a cute little homewar

Basically in the UK the high street is the place most mortals go to shop - as Amber said, all the non-designer places. We've got much less of a mall culture over here. We still have shopping centres but they tend to be out of town or in addition to the main shopping street lined with all the usual suspects that Amber mentioned - that's the high street.

  • Happy, Carnaby Street most definitely still exists, although it's not the way it did in the 60's. Last time I was there (which was admittedly a few years ago!) it was mostly filled with shops selling souvenirs.

These days people tend to mean stores like Topshop, Oasis, H&M, etc when they refer to the British high street - the non-designer places.

What is meant by the British high street? I have been infatuated with Carnaby Street and Mary Quant since I was a little girl, do these still exist? I would love to know because I want to visit in a year or so.
