Valentino Satin Pumps with Flowers

It seems like Valentino, amongst other designers, are using a lot of big embellishments like this flower on their pumps for fall, evening or otherwise. I'm just not sure what my take is. I feel like personally, this sort of thing would be hard to pull off. And these sort of details just don't seem modern to me. But, at the same time I find a lot of the shoes, like these, very cute. I guess the shape and the thin platform bring them up to date a bit. But I don't think I'd invest my $690 in them.
