A comment on your quality question. I have a few Ann Taylor shoes and they do quite well in the wearing. They are my secret "cheapies" - shoes I don't feel bad about buying, on sale, in between those momentous purchases of too-expensive shoes that I feel guilty wearing.

Ann Taylor is also a good place to find not-too-high heels that still look elegant & feminine and not like comfort shoes.
