Miu Miu Blue Velvet Flats
Navy blue can be a problematic colour for footwear. Once you get past the "granny shoes" associations it can sometimes bring, you then have the question of what colour of tights to wear with them. Navy blue - too matronly. Black - clashes with the blue. White - too "Alic in Wonderland". Leave it to Miu Miu, though, to brighten up boring old navy blue by adding some shiny big jewels to the front of these otherwise unremarkable flats. The uppers are velvet, so no going out in the rain in these, but I guess when you have Swarovski crystals on your toes, you probably won't be planning any long walking trips anyway. These are £220 at Net-a-Porter.

Oh, I'd been on the look out for velvet flats for some time but the only option were a patterned pair by Nine West. Velvet is so winter, I can't imagine why there aren't more options.

I'd wear grey or cream tights...or black! I think that black and navy together look great. Brown and navy is also an interesting, but I don't really like brown tights.
I've got my eye of a pair of navy knee-high flat boots right now...

Expensive but very nice indeed.

This royal blue is so nice... but as you said, the "granny" effect is behind the corner. Guess they look much better once u get them on your feet. The only thing that will NOT look better is my poor credit card :)
