Yay or Nay Wednesday

Yng Many of you will probably recognise this killer heeled number but if you know where it's from don't spoil it for everyone else. Ignoring the tights (which would probably only look good on about 3% of the population) let us know your thoughts on these sparkly sandals. Are they your dream Christmas party footwear, or would you feel like you're covered in fairly lights? Yay or Nay and why?

ps. Last week's shoes (which got an overall yay) were £50 from Shellys.

Ewww...not my style at all. Nay.

They're fun-looking, and I bet they'd look far better over black tights than that abominable fuschia, but its a nay, and for a very specific reason. Remember those cheap robot outfits you used to be able to get at Halloween? You know, those tacky silver space-suits with huge tacky-looking rhinestones, kind of Elvis-meets-Liberace in a fight to the death? Thats what the uppers on these shoes remind me of. And that is not a good thing.

They're not offensive, but I think I could find something more different and fun for a holiday party. Nay.

I'm afraid it's a NAY! And I agree, those pink tights don't exactly improve the shoes at all.

Nay, disco is dead.

Posted by: Mindy | October 25, 2006 4:21 PM

nay, they look cheap and tacky.

Posted by: nomi | October 25, 2006 5:10 PM

*whispers*

I actually quite like them. I'm wondering if there's something wrong with me now...

Posted by: Amber | October 25, 2006 5:16 PM

They stand out......not in a good way. I am certain a fairy princess-obsessed eight year old, if she could walk in them.

Nay.

Finally, I have found a use for my obsolete cheese grater; to make a pair of painful shoes out of them!

If I ever, ever felt the need to grate my feet, these would be the shoes that I'd wear. Nay.

Yay. I'm very sorry, but I'm a sucker for shiny shoes. Ideally they would be mules without the ankle strap, and worn with a tailored black (trouser) suit.

Posted by: Arnez | October 25, 2006 5:52 PM

One thing is sure: since I know whose shoes are these (and not telling...), cheap they ain't. Actually, they would really ruin your bank account. Still, I don't like them that much - too hooker style for me.
But that doesn't stop me from giving them an YAY...
Why? Because that kind of sandals can get away with the LBD just like that! Can be the sparkly detail on the whole bonton outfit...the naughty detail!
Or if I really wanted to feel sparkly - the New Year's Eve with a long couture dress. Yay, yay, yay...

NAY NAY NAY!!! Hooker heels...

Posted by: Daphne | October 25, 2006 6:05 PM

Holy Jennifer Jason Leigh - Watch out, darling!!!

Nay.

While I think they're interesting, and being short I am a huge fan of stilletos, I have to NAY because I would not buy them if I happened across them in a shop. The ankle strap looks a little rough

Posted by: Juri | October 25, 2006 7:15 PM

Yay! Probably would like them more if the heel were a bit shorter.
But I like shiny/sparkly things.

Posted by: Chloabelle | October 25, 2006 8:01 PM

I'm a sucker for the shiny and sparkle. Fun to wear to a party but can't see myself ever buying them

Posted by: Katy | October 25, 2006 8:24 PM

Nay - too hookerish

Posted by: Camilla | October 25, 2006 9:11 PM

Nay - they look like stripper shoes!

Posted by: Style Graduate | October 25, 2006 9:34 PM

ABSOLUTELY a yay. I'd wear these in a heartbeat but I'd prefer thicker heels and no ankle strap - not flattering unless you have stick thin legs.

Posted by: beaut.ie | October 25, 2006 10:47 PM

Ok, I have never liked cheap-looking jewel encrusted things because they look more like a skin rash than fun sparklies. So I get two images from these shoes; open sores and pole dancing. Nay. Nay. Nay. Nay. Nay.

Nay. Love the heel, am curious about the ankle strap. But the fronts? hell no. Attrocious. I hate rhinestone detailing

Posted by: Rosie | October 26, 2006 6:02 AM

I'm torn! Yay/Nay? I can't decide. Maybe nay. The heel DOES have a poke-you-through-the-heart-esque-ness to it.

Posted by: Dataceptionist | October 26, 2006 7:55 AM

Nay - couldn't walk or even stagger from a taxi in them and even if they are big bucks they look cheap!

Posted by: Deb | October 26, 2006 1:47 PM

hmm.. ok.. well yay because the maker(if you could only click on my name it will link you ther.. other wise) and their shoes are EXTREMELY comfortable for the height provided. and they make one that doesnt have a perforated front that's so much better. I'm going to get one for my dark fushia knit suit that I'm wearing to a party this winter. I think I failed to mention that the similar ones without the perforated holes are also a kind-of fushia tint. I loooove the height but I dont really desperately need it. I've been praciticing on higher heels just for this and ladies trust me.. its really pretty difficult if you are trying to go about 6 hours all night in shoes that are 4.75 or more inches high and you've tried them on at home.. I HAD TO ICE MY FEET! but hopefully I wont break an ankle before the big day! White bulky plaster would just set my whole outfit of balance! I wonder if they make casts in fushia or black-black goes with everything-maybe with an embroidered pattern. Now I feel like designing my own line of fashionable casts! just for all the women who have injured themselves wearing high heels but want to go down with dignity and fashionista elements!
