Banana Republic's 'Sun Valley' Boots
Sheepskin-lined boots aren't really my bag (or, indeed, my boots, come to think of it), but now that winter's really starting to bite, there's something about Banana Republic's faux shearling numbers that actually quite appeals. Far less clumsy looking than the ubiquitous Uggs, these will still keep your feet toasty and warm, and would look good either with a skirt or with tucked-in jeans. Sadly, the suede uppers will be just as vulnerable to the cold and wet as Uggs are, but if cream coloured suede sounds like a recipe for disaster, there's also a much darker brown which will probably keep their looks for longer.

I hate Uggs too, but I like these boots. They have a sophisticated shape that Uggs don't have.
