Bestselling (ugly) Boot at Schuh

BsicShoppers at Schuh online are an odd bunch. How else would you explain the fact that this mad Irregular Choice offering has made it onto the front page of their bestsellers list? This is the kind of thing that probably had you lot thinking 'did Ugly Shoe Thursday come early this week?', alas no my friends, it really is - if the website is to be believed - a top seller. Maybe I'm missing something?

It looks like one of those old fashioned shoes you see illustrated in shoe history books where the foot part is really disfigured!

Hehehe.. you know what they're doing? They're putting the WORST seller on the front page, in order to convince people that it's popular, hoping to persuade buyers who like to be the same as everyone else to buy it! :D

It's probably because it's the type of ankle boot-shoe type thingie thats coming into fashion. And while it looks horrific here, this style in the light yellow-blue on, say, Zappos.com is pretty nice.

I agree with Erin. It's reverse psychology aimed at the poor souls that just have to have what they think is the latest, most popular thing. These shoes are being pushed by the poor Schuh employees that don't want to be receiving these for their Christmas bonus. :~)

More than Irregular Choice they should call themselves Mad Choice. Lord in Heavens, is THAT really a shoe?!?!

Posted by: Sandra | November 8, 2006 5:38 PM

Whatever! the boot is gorgeous, I love everything Irregular Choice makes and this is no exception.

i agree with erin...
i would love to know who actually buys these shoes!! what do they look like, where do they live and where do they work (i know they would not pass at my work!!)

I... er...

Please don't kill me, but... I actually like these. But in the same way I like my rainbow thigh-highs with a polkadotted skirt, not in a fashionably stylish way.

I saw one of the ugly sisters wearing these at the pantomime! MG! They are UGLY!

Posted by: Katy | November 9, 2006 9:13 AM

Definately panto shoes! But I would say a word in support of irregular choice as I love loads of their shoes - they do take chances and don't just stick with the safe boring option (and the designers take a lot of mind altering drugs methinks!)

LOL @ Deb's comment^
I wonder if Irregular Choice is bribing someone at Schuh to get exposure? Hey, if i was bribed with free shoes I don't think I could resist temptatioN!

Pahaha.. thats not a shoe.. its a marshmallow!!

It is ugly and I love it.

My job necessitates that I am very aware of what shoes and bags are being worn. This style has been on sale for a while now and yet I have never seen anyone wearing them...and that includes 'watching' in places like London, Birmingham, Paris and New York....so that's how popular they are!

Yeah, I am so happy I wrote about those ...how to call them...objects...on november 2 myself: one of the comments said: " this stuff is for the most fetishists self-torturing transvestites or what?"

all the best!

These are one pair of funky shoes

You may slag it, but a little birdie informs me that schuh has sold just under 1000 pairs of this rather strange looking boot this year...so it does sit in their top sellers list on the website (which for the record is automatically generated by the list of top selling lines in Schuh!)

Blame people in London mainly, they love that boot!

Long live Irregular Choice!
