Tamara Henriques Wellies and Rain Shoes

It's been a while since we last featured Tamara Henriques' rather whimsical line of wellies here on Shoewawa.  However, since the rain has been almost unceasing this past week - at least it has, here in Scotland - I thought it an opportune time to wax lyrical about her fabulous designs!  Now, you'll have to excuse me for going a little mad here - it took serious willpower to hold me back from listing every shoe on her site!

As you can see, her designs offer a range of styles and prints (with loads more on her website), certainly a step up from the overly kitsch styles on the high street or the green welly brigade you'll find in gardening stores!  I love that they offer ballet flats, loafers and kitten heels for something a little more dressy; but also make funky cowboy boots, snow-hiking boots and your standard wellington shape!  The shoes cost approximately £50 a pair, check the website for store locations.

From top left-to-right:
Toile french wallpaper wellies; Burgundy regatta stripe cowboy; Swag floral cowboy; Houndstooth ballerina flat; Blue swirl snow boot; Pink tweed kitten heel; Swag floral ballerina; Black parasol loafer; and pink leopard kitten heel.

Call me crazy, but with a pair of these, I don't think I'd mind walking in the rain much at all!  (and they're a DARN sight better than they that shall not be named...)

I bought a pair of these Ilse Jacobsen wellies last week - http://www.ilsejacobsen.dk/winter_rain/c1rub1.shtml - mine are in this red, but they come in a huge range of colours.

They are lace-up, but because they have a gusset tongue all the way up, they're fully waterproof right up to the top.
