Stella McCartney floral print wedges

stellawedges.jpg More black and white shoes, but rather than sticking to zebra print, Stella McCartney's gone with bold florals on these canvas wedges. They're just as eye-catching as all the zebra-crossing style shoes we've been seeing lately, but I think the floral design is prettier and more wearable. These would be great for summer with a simple black (or white. Or black and white if you want to go the whole hog zebra) dress. The bad news? They're £315 at Net-a-Porter.

Franco Sarto black and white wedges

sarto.jpg
Aha! It's that "black and white with button" look I loved so much this winter, all updated for Spring with the addition of an open toe and a little wedge. I thought this was a great look when Topshop et al did it last year, and I still like it now: this is a retro kind of style that'll look just as good with this season's tunics and mini dresses as it did with last season's… tunics and mini dresses. These are by Franco Sarto, and they're £84.99 at Shoes.com.

Get Her Look - Katherine Heigl's white Earth 'Orbit' snow boots

earth%20orbit.jpgGiven the recent flurries of snow in the UK (and, no doubt, in the US too!), I thought it was only appropriate that Shoewawa cater to the needs of frozen feet around the world! Katherine Heigl recently sported these 'Orbit' boots, by celebrity favourite Earth, at the Sundance festival; and was apparently most impressed with their 'Negative Heel Technology'. This feature positions the heel slightly below the toe, to create better body alignment, with the interesting side-effect of improving your ability to burn calories. They may not be the prettiest boots around, but for warmth and rear-reducing potential, it sounds like $107.10 well spent!.

'Cecille' slingback from Office

cecille%20slingback%20office5999.jpg After the popularity of the Dolly Interbow Court, Ruched Platform Peeptoe and Flora Pom Pom at Office, these 'Cecille' slingbacks may well be their successor. After all, there are only so many colour ways they can release the other shoes before we all get bored - or maybe you already are? In that case, you need these 'Cecille' slingbacks that ooze '40s glamour, just as Scarlett Johannson did in the film 'Black Dahlia'. To get a piece of this style will set you back £59.99, which is not a bad price at all. It's a good job that the high waist is making a comeback, but the matching twin set and pearls are optional.

Ravel's bargain £15 velvet 'Renee' sandals

ravelvelv.jpgOne of the greatest things about writing for Shoewawa is having the ability to live vicariously through others. If I bought all the shoes I see and like, there would be no room in my house for me, so I can but share the bargains with the rest of you. These diamante trimmed baby pink velvet wrap sandals (called 'Renee') are down to only £15 in the sale at Ravel, and are perfect for packing away ready for Summer weddings and garden patio parties. They also come in black if you want to wear them now.

Banana Republic Slingback Open Toe Espadrille

espadrille.jpg

Look at these shoes and you can almost envision stepping onto a boat or strolling in the Hamptons. It's funny how different styles of shoes can stir up very specific images - perhaps that's why they're so alluring? Are we purchasing an experience and lifestyle in addition to a shoe? Or is it the canvas upper and footbed with padded heel? The contrast trim and pristine jute wedge? Getting these dirty would be tragic, so tread lightly my friends. Though they are surprisingly affordable for the Banana Republic - $68.

'Classy' patent leather and electroplate courts by Kurt Geiger

kurtclassy.jpgThe 1980s have certainly been a point for fashion inspiration over the past year, and the trend looks set to continue. These 'Classy' patent leather pumps are another in a long line of fabulous footwear reminiscent of 'power dressing', but fortunately without the shoulder pads this time! While this image only shows one angle of the shoes, the line of bold colour set against mirror-finish electroplated heels is practically edible - and I challenge you to love but one pair! Fortunately, at £75 from Kurt Geiger, you shouldn't be completely destitute, should you decide to take home two... or three... or four!
