Dorothy Perkins jump on the Roger Vivier bandwagon

vivier.jpg Well, everyone else is doing Roger Vivier style buckle flats, so why shouldn't Dorothy Perkins? Clearly following the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy, they've just released these shiny patent buckled flats which are, I'm sure you'll agree, not exactly dis-similar to Vivier's famous design. There is one big difference here, mind you, and that's the price: Dorothy Perkin's 'tribute' will set you back just £20, and also come in a colour that they call "stone", but which is perhaps better known as "white".

I think these were done first (2005-ish) by Celine. They came in black patent heels and a silver croc (which I got and which are GORGEOUS!) They had a much more girly heel than any of these you have shown. Aerosoles did a spot-on copy so I was able to get in black patent (I wanted both from Celine but couldn't afford 2 at over $500) and in a claret/burgandy patent. All were with a silver buckle that made them very versitle. I ALWAYS get compliments on them.

my goodness! I think the idea of the shoe was great. Except that it just won't stop reminding me of a pilgrim's shoe during thanksgiving that broke off! Maybe if there was something substantial in the back, with a different type of buckle, or else it is bak to the old ages with the knee tights and the and puffy pants and the god awful hats!
