Meet The Team: Gemma (aka Ms Shoewawa)

You might not realise, but it takes a whole team of shoe scouts to keep Shoewawa up to date. In our eagerness to get down to the important business of talking footwear, we tend to take on new bloggers without introducing them properly. To remedy that we've sent all our girls a short survey to fill out so you can learn a bit more about them. It only seemed fair that Gemma - the original Ms Shoewawa - should get the ball rolling...

Background: I've been blogging and writing / designing websites since I was 16 and have a degree in Fashion Journalism from the London College of Fashion. I joined Shiny Media to launch Shoewawa in October 2004, and have been with them ever since. Now I head up the fashion team and oversee everything style-related at Shiny Towers!

Shoe size: UK 6.5

Approx number of pairs of shoes owned: Well over 100.

Best shoe purchase ever: Either a pair of grey herringbone tweed heels with ankle straps for £5 in the New Look sale, or the Clarks Saskia sandals, which I have in three colours. I'm all about the bargains!

Favourite shoe brands / designers: Christian Louboutin, Brian Atwood, Georgina Goodman, Luc Berjen, Marc Jacobs, Sergio Rossi and Gina. On the high street I like Office, New Look, Faith, Minette and Bertie.

Top shoe shopping secret: Always keep pop socks in your bag for trying on heels, and don't be afraid of colours and prints. That's what little black dresses are for!
