Ravel's 'Batik' Mary Janes
Yes folks, it's yet another take on the Mary Jane, this time from Ravel, and this time in a rather fetching brown and cream (they're also available in black). Ravel are clearly trying to cover all their bases here in the "cute shoes" stakes. They've got the button fastening, they've got the bow-on-the-toe, they've got what they call "pepper pot punching" and what I call "holes". They're going for cuteness overload, and actually? They've got it. These are also available in black, and are £55.

LOL, I recently wrote a blog entry about this very shoe - the same design if not the same exact brand. It was called "When A Shoe Tries Too Hard" -- I just don't think covering all your bases with "cuteness overload" equates to more attractive. It's less attractive to me. Pick a concept and flaunt it! My entry is here: http://style-bard.blogspot.com/2006/12/when-shoe-tries-too-hard.html#links
