Full-on crocodile embossed leather or python effect (snake skin to you and me) isn't everyone's cup of tea and PVC mock croc can look seriously ghastly. However, good quality leather and just a touch of reptile print can really add that much-needed extra zing to a court shoe. The designer offerings currently on sale at Yoox include quite a lot of great reptile-detailed numbers at bargain prices...
Top left: Key té has some great designs at really good prices as this low-heeled purple suede court shows (£38, was £92), and I just adore her teal suede big sister (bottom, centre) at £48 (was £92). The purple croc and button detailing is really lovely - if only I was a size 6!
Top, centre: Kalliste follows suit with this gorgeous croc-embossed boot in grey (£59, was £140).
Right: There are quite a few python-detailed courts from the Marc Jacobs collection including this lamé mary jane in midnight blue at £152, down from £234 (also in purple and silver £92, was £230), and this fabulously deep red/maroon-coloured patent low heel mary jane with a python collar (left of picture), at £165, down from £275.
