Top Five: Pretty perforation
Spring is definitely in the air with this collection of lovely shoes with perforated detailing that puts me in mind of brocade dresses. I'm amazed at how perforation is everywhere, from the feminine cut-out styles above, through to more masculine looks on brogues and brogue-detailed heels and flats...
Clockwise from bottom left:
White pointed shoes with a tiny kitten heel from Fornarina have a perforated leather upper, with a sweet flat bow detail at the heel, and a comfortable rubber sole. Be quick, they're just £29 and there's only size 7 left!
Hollywould ballet flats with detachable grosgrain ankle tie in a very pretty rose gold metallic leather are currently on sale at Net-a-porter for £94.50, down from £135. They have a tiny heel and are also available in a beautiful metallic lilac.
Kit's perforated ballet flats in metallic blue (£18), also available in gold.
I'm not a fan of mules usually. Don't get me wrong, I think they can look great, I just can't get them to stay on my feet. These shoes though may make me try harder. They're by Eva Turner and are available in coral leather with a contrast trim for £74. Oh and they're only available in a size 7 - how about that, it's my size!
River Island's getting in on the act with their 'Hitch' peeptoe with perforated detailing in black patent leather (£24.99).
