Yay or Nay Wednesday

yaynay65.jpgPoor Marc Jacobs (figuratively, not literally!). He's lauded and adored over at The Bag Lady, but here, his teal booties only scored a paltry 3 nods from 13 votes last week! So, it is with great consternation that I announce their demise - and shuttle them off to fashion jail (or perhaps a lonely, dusty cupboard in the depths of Shoewawa).

This week's offering is a rather unique take on the Mary Jane style, with its chunky strap and unusual shape. Is it a beautiful and artistic take on the trend, or has it been hit a few too many times with ye olde ugly stick? Yay or Nay and why?

ugly stick, definately.

they also look as though that strap will ride the foot at precisely the right angle to be uncomfortable

It looks as though the shoe is being held down by it's own strap in a straitjacketed, welcome-to-the-asylum kind of way. Also, the Doc Marten 'Bubble Toe'/kitten heel combo is septic. Nay.

That buckle reminds me of a restraining cuff and of spats. My feet feel richly choked just looking at these. Nay!

"Spats" was the first thing that came to my mind too, followed quickly by "ugly stick! Ugly stick!" So it's a Nay from me, I'm afraid.

Nay, this is a contender for Ugly Show of The Week!

Nay - it looks like it has a steel toe cap and a straight jacket buckle.

Oh dear ...complete shambles in the shoe world. Absolutely horrifying, and I just don't understand the concept behind the whole design; be it the very front of the shoe, and the buckle/strap...thing. Dear God why?

Posted by: Aeriveh | January 17, 2007 4:54 PM

Why? Why would anyone think someone would buy this? Ugh, nay nay nay!!!

Posted by: SelinaC | January 17, 2007 6:27 PM

ICK!!!

Oh my goodness! I never want to see this shoe again. It made my kitten yelp when she jumped up onto my knee a second ago and looked at it.

Well at least I know my cat has taste ^_^

The heel is nice, but then I have no more positive to say about this shoes....

ew, it looks like they´ve tried to disguise a boat as a shoe, without suceeding. NAY!
