Designers are really making cork platforms chic this spring, and this Steve Madden heel is no exception. In fact, it's a perfect example! The shoe, $109, has such a great Florida or California vibe - or should I say Vybe - it just seems made for fun, frivolous times in warm weather. The sorbet colors are great, and instead of being loud as such a combination could easily be, they combine to almost form a neutral. These would look stellar with a great white dress for daytime, or even a black one for night.

Thanks must go to our forum superstar Julia for alterting me to this bit of designer vs high street brilliance. On the left are the Chloe originals, metal-tipped t-bars with chain detailing. They'll set you back a few hundred squids if you can even find them. Meanwhile at good old Topshop the slightly less stunning but far more affordable budget alternatives are a bargain £55. I'm almost tempted to get a pair myself. I could walk in these babies all day!
There haven't been any Hollywould shoes on here for a while, so I thought it was time to take a look at the most recent offerings. Sadly, many of the prints were a bit much even for an attention seeker like me. If I were planning a trip to St Tropez, or if I were the kind of girl who frequents the red carpet in LA, I might have been ok, but in rainy London town, tropical print espadrilles just aren't practical. These laser-cut pumps, however, would be just as great in Holborn as they would be on Rodeo Drive, teamed with tailored trousers or a chic black skirt. They're $395 on pre-order in black or tan.

If you like your shoes bold, bright and showstopping, then look out for Kristina Kozak. Her shoes could, quite possibly, stop traffic. I also love the way she describes her design ethos, "All designs reflect fun and happiness and my shoes are meant to add a bit of both to your life." Now that's how all shoe designers should think! The Fall / Winter 06/07 range was the Boston-based designer's first ever collection, and is currently available at Stel's, with prices ranging from $275 to $550. The line reminds me of a cross between Ashley Dearborn and Biba, with a splash of Brian Atwood thrown in for good measure. View the whole range at KristinaKozak.com.
It's such a shame when a photo really doesn't do a shoe justice. These cream and black peep toes cried out to me on a recent shopping research trip, as their quirky detail makes them look like they cost a hell of a lot more than the £25 they'll set you back. The black actually extends up the side of the shoe, giving them a funky two-tone look that reminds me of shoes from quirkier design houses like Marni and Miu Miu. Actually, they're from humble Dorothy Perkins. Who'd have guessed?

There's no cheaper or chicer way to do Spring's bright neon colors than at Target. These Parry wedges from Mossimo are just what the fashionista on a budget ordered. They're just what the trend calls for, they're fun, carefree, and scream Summer! And when purchasing a shoe like that, $24.99 is just about what you want to spend. Everything about them is faux, but that doesn't mean they're a faux pas!

These shoes are clearly from the same line as the 'Nannex' peep toes from Faith which we featured last month: the front embellishment is the same, as is the contrast heel. Instead of a d'Orsay pump, though, these are a delicate mule in a lovely, dusky pink colour. The satin fabric probably makes these a "special occasions only" shoe, which is a shame because they're so pretty I'd want to wear them every day...
