This is such a simple shoe that it would barely even raise an eyebrow were it not for the shape of the wedge. Rather than that "flat to the floor" shape that most makers of wedge heels tend to create, River Island have decided to go with the slightly less common "slightly raised wedge" (these are very technical terms I'm using here, you understand), and it makes all the difference. These would make a great alternative to courts for a spring work outfit, with the peep-toe front making them a little bit sexy, too. They're £49.99.

It's always surprising when cute sneaks get as many compliments as fancy party shoes - but they often do! If you don't want to give up your peep toes or can't stand to hid your summer pedi in regular sneakers, these Report linen flats are perfect. The linen shoes are made extra cute with striated ribbon detail and jute trim. Wear them to the beach to protect your tootsies from burning hot sand, or on those myriad summer occasions when heels would inevitably sink into lush lawns. Pretty and practical, at $49. Scoop them up now because Macy's is offering free shipping on all new spring shoes through March 4 with the code NEW SHOES.

Tee hee, the name 'gumbird' made me laugh. However, upon seeing the shoes, I stopped laughing and promptly started imagining when and with what I could wear these 'Gumbird' peeptoes from FCUK. At £60 they are in keeping with FCUK's tendency to be on the dear side, but at the same time they are almost worth it to have these golden delights on your feet this summer. Come out and play now sunshine, I'm bored with all the rain...

These Nicholas Kirkwood metallic edged slingbacks are definitely a sunshine shoe. Simple yet striking, the metallic detailing and gold heel add the finishing touch. They belong on the streets of St. Tropez, or any other sunny and glamorous destination that you can think of. The only thing standing in our way of the [insert chosen destination here] dream is the hefty £325 price tag. Do you know how many flights that could buy on Easy Jet?

The new O Oscar by Oscar de la Renta line at Macy's is a bit disapointing. The price points are great, but the selections are a bit...matronly. While Oscar's trademark elegance and grace are evident in most pieces, there's nothing that really stands out. Which pretty much sums up these kitten heel pumps - they'd be nice for work and look like a sturdy, classic pair of shoes. But there's not much to get excited about. Hopefully the line will improve as more offerings come out.

She gets free clothes from designers, was once the muse of Matthew Williamson and now it seems R & B diva Kelis is the inspiration behind a shoe. However, this £350 black patent sandal which bears her moniker doesn't quite mirror her quirky sense of style. Then again, whether they're in her honour or not, who would complain about a Choo shoe being named after them? Goodness, I'd be happy to have a pair named after me in Shoe Express.

Good news for British bloggers! Metro have teamed up with Ask.com to bring us the Best of Brit Blog Awards. It's brilliant to see British blogs getting the chance to show their worth, and do you know what's Absolutely Fantastically Brilliant? There's a fashion category! So if you think Shoewawa (or any of our other fashion blogs) deserves a nod, we'd be honoured to be nominated.
The categories are Arts and Entertainment, Fashion, Sport, Politics, Travel, Technology, Youth (for bloggers under the age of 18) and Weird & Wonderful. I would go into a big list of what sites I'd recommend you choose for each, but I wouldn't want to sway your vote. Instead I'll just direct you to the 'Shiny Sites' links in our sidebar...
