Jimmy Choo Metallic Wedge

metallic.jpg

Shiny, futuristic metallics are on the horizon for spring. But why? Must every trend be stretched to the least-attractive extremes before it finally cycles out? Metallics can be beautiful, we've featured many gleaming golds and stunning silvers. But the plastic looking kind? From top designers? And combined with materials that play up the contrast even more? It's all a concious decision, to be sure. A piece of metal doesn't fall into a piece of cork at the Choo plant and end up at Bergdorf's. But let's just say everything that's on the shelves of our favorite meccas of chic shouldn't be snatched up with equal vigor. Now that the trend has been thoroughly disected and dissed, let's just say that this pair isn't the worst of the bunch. The thinness of the straps and the framing effect the trim has on the cork wedge keep this from going too far over the top. Still, I can't say it looks like a $565 shoe.
