High profile animal rights activist Pamela Anderson has just announced that she's ending her long-term love affair with Ugg boots after finally realising they're made from shaved sheep skin. On her website, she explains "I used to wear them with my red swim suit to keep warm - never realizing that they were SKIN! I thought they were shaved kindly?" She's encouraging her fans to stop buying the boots (I couldn't agree more, though my distaste has nothing to do with the dead sheep) and to buy boots from Stella McCartney or Juicy instead. Or better still, wait until the boots Pam herself is currently designing to go on sale.
