I may be forced to eat my words about Rocket Dog after seeing these 'Fate' slingbacks at Schuh. Described on the website as "a totally radical new direction for Rocket Dog"- I'll say! These shoes, with their rainbow coloured peep toe and cork heel, are already making me rearrange my finances so I can afford these £39.99 cuties. Let's hope Rocket Dog continues in this vain.

When Monty Python sang "Always look in the bright side of life..." I'm sure they were talking about these Tulip T-bar platform sandals from Schuh. I mean, how could you be glum with these brightly coloured treats on your feet? If you want to add more than just a splash of colour to your outfit, then would be the shoes to pick. If you have £69.99, then that is one obstacle cleared; the next is deciding which colour to get. Pink and blue or purple and green? Decisions, decisions...

The £90 'Gina' jewel sandal is Monsoon shoe with a Miu Miu vibe. The chunky rhinestones remind me of the ones glued to the heels of last season's Miu Miu sandals and this season's flats. Light coloured sandals aren't the easiest shoes to wear, but I see them for summer weddings with simple dresses and cotton skirts or for evening with something slinky and silver.
I'll spare you the spiel about Carlos Santana being a guitarist and how strange it is that he makes nice shoes and get right down to the business at hand. Look at these babies. It's like someone hacked at a peep toe pump with a craft knife (a bit like those snowflakes we made as kids) and finished up with an accidental masterpiece. I love the fact that they're strappy without being sandals, and there's no fussy detail over the foot or ankle that might rub (though I'd watch that side strap on the first outing). They're $89 in black or white patent at 6pm.

Shoewawa favourite Brian Atwood is another designer giving lucite a bit of a revival this season. It's a look - much like the killer platform and the chunky wedge - that takes some getting used to but eventually wins you over. I still believe it's worth spending out on this look as cheap lucite has somewhat of a reputation that's probably best avoided! Atwood's patent slingbacks are $890 at Saks. Ouch! Maybe those cheap alternatives aren't such a bad idea after all?

"Please can you help me find what appears to be this seasons ‘it’ shoe – I have seen it on Gwen Stefani, J.Lo, Jamelia and now Victoria Beckham. They are black platforms with a small peep toe, and a white stiletto heel. I don’t care how much they cost, I just need them!" - Gemma
The shoe you're after is from Yves Saint Laurent, and is called the 'Tribute'. It comes in a few variations, with various heel heights, platforms and uppers. Because it is such an 'it' shoe it's proving quite elusive in terms of online shopping (Yves Saint Laurent is not particularly easy to find online anyway) and I could only find them in red at Luisa Via Roma for €470. You may have more luck at a YSL boutique, instore at Browns or at a department store that stocks the brand. Expect a wait and a hefty price tag though, celeb style never comes cheap!
