The "sideways strap" is something I've noticed on a few shoes this year. It's a nice way way to make the traditional strappy sandal a bit more interesting, and, of course, it won't make your ankles look fat, like an ordinary ankle strap will. The red lining on these Moschino sandals makes them extra nice, I think, and the fact they're canvas rather than leather probably explains why, although still expensive, they're slightly cheaper than Moschino's usual offerings at $398.
