Yay or Nay Wednesday

yaynay74.jpgIt seems that last week's feather-embellished flats - Kate Spade's 'Dusk' - fell a little flat. Still, 'bird-brained' or not, they certainly won a few fans! If you're keen, you can pick them up for a discounted $159.99 from Bluefly.

This week's offering was actually suggested for 'Ugly Shoe of the Week', but I thought I'd put it to the vote instead! A rather 'different' stiletto / shoe / boot concoction... is it a designer doozie or frightfully foul? Yay or Nay and why?

NAY!

these are frightful indeed! they look really cheap, with teh gold round the heel, are they trying to emulate a horses leg...? they do look quite equistrian to me.

no need for laces and buckles and spats, its just all too much. and the colour, urgh!

NAY! They are horrid. It's a crossing of a baseball glove, spats, studs, and a gold spike? I agree with Emmao - equestrian... But it's more Giddy-Yack, than giddy-up!

I immediately thought of horses too when I saw these. Nay from me 'cos of the colour/gold bits/confusion of styles. This shoe/boot's having an identity crisis.

I just thought oh my goodness they're hideous NAY!

Posted by: A | March 28, 2007 11:28 PM

Nay. These are just tacky.

Can you say "spats"?

Posted by: Mirandacake | March 29, 2007 2:35 AM

Ew no..... just, just no. I bet they're expensive too. Eeesh.

I think we neeed some YAY here!

Not the most elegant shoes I've ever seen, but very special and unique. I want them :)

Really horrible but I bet someone buys them. What I can't understand is a designer sitting there thinking 'ooh these are so fab - can't wait to make them so I can wear them!!!' - maybe they were made by a computer programme as they seem to a bit of everything in them!

YAY, because they are special and diverge from the common denominator. That is, they do not bore me. A legwarmer wrapped around the shoe! That's genious, makes me think of 1940's men's shoes. I want to see more shoes with legwarmers!

Yay for me, I love this type of shoe, with a slit between the boot part and the stiletto part! I've seen such models by Dior/Galliano and I think they're very sexy

Nay. There's too much going on with this shoe.

I think that detail on the top would look nice on a boot of the same color. As they are, I think they'd make my feet look stubby and distract from the rest of me. Nay.

Too much. It just looks vulgar. Nay!

Nay. The canvas spat has no place with a gold trimmed stiletto. And if that's not canvas it sure does a good impression of it.
