I am definitely not usually to be found in the perspex shoe fan club - in fact, when they first appeared on the catwalks, I thought they looked uncomfortable, odd and even a little bit tacky. Ladies: I have had an epiphany. I LOVE these shoes!!! Sadly I haven't seen them on my feet (yet) but the total perspex overload means that you practically would look as though you were wearing an invisible shoe, except for the sexy black buckle on the side. It comes in sizes 3-8 including a size 5.5 thrown in for good measure! What are your thoughts? There's no end of mirror-like silver shoes around at the moment, but I'm still not tired of them yet. This is a nice, classic style from Accessorize, and I particularly like the low front, which looks guaranteed to give you some good old toe cleavage! These are £22, which seems to be more or less much the going rate for ballet flats on the high street at the moment, and they'll go with just about everything in your wardrobe.

The summer edition of the Next directory is currently hitting doorsteps around the land, and tucked away in the shoe section you'll find these cute red ballet flats, which are a bit of a bargain at just £17.50. They have that lovely retro feel to them, and would look fabulous with a pair of indigo blue cropped jeans for a 1950s style feel. They're also available in black patent leather, which is slightly more practical although not nearly as much fun.

While trawling through Net-A-Porter's current sale offerings, I stumbled upon these unusual flats. In what can only be described as 'pumpkin', they look rather like something Marie Antoinette might have worn.
