American Eagle Outfitters sues Payless

scoop%20flat.gif
If you've wandered into a Payless lately and thought their selection of American Eagle shoes, like the Scoop ballet flat, above, were too good to be true - you were right. The shoes have no relation to American Eagle Outfitters, oft referred to as American Eagle or AE, the mid-price casual wear chain. American Eagle Outfitters is now sueing Payless for misleading customers reports the World Shoe Association. While they are fully within their rights, it's a bit cheeky coming from a company that is famous for knocking off Abercrombie and Fitch's trademark "I found this $80 t-shirt on the floor of the gym and just threw it on" style.
