Yay or Nay Wednesday

Yaynay75.jpgHurrah! It seems that our comments have been well and truly fixed, with fifteen of you voting on the hideousness that was L.A.M.B.'s 'is-it-a-boot? / is-it-a-shoe?' creation. While 'Crowther Tex' was voted 'Nay' by a long shot; as is always the way with 'interesting' shoes, a few of you declared your undying love for the design. If you're keen, they're yours for $375 from Royal Elastics.

This week's offering is a brogue with a difference. With an unusual cut-out pattern, some of the detailing almost looks like an after-thought! Are they awesome '80s or dodgy dance shoes? Yay or Nay and why?

Nay in that colour. looks cheapish. Although I like the mix of styles, I think it could much done in a much nicer way.

A vigorous nay! First, they look like those horrid jazz shoes. Second, they look like a flat, weirdly pointy T-strap (which is a tough shape to work anyway). Third, the straps are too chunky to even begin to balance out points one and two. And what would you wear these with? Your red mime outfit?

At first I thought Nay. But.. there's something interesting about them. At least, from this angle. I'll say Yay because of the color and the T cut on top. Very quirky-preppy!

Oh please Lord no. Nay nay nay. These remind me of my dance teacher from Hell from when I was a child.

I'm going to write a "nay" song. It's like that bit in Mel Brooks' "History of the World Part 1" where Madeline Kahn is singing about all the guys offered up for her amusement. Only my song will just be "Nay! nay-nay-nay-nay-nay-nay-NAY!" etc etc. I could sing it for you if you'd like. :-P

Seriously, though, these shoes look like they were designed expressly to make your feet look overly-tiny and pointy, and to make your calves look huge. Blech.
