Black Mary Jane heels by Christian Louboutin

louboutin2.jpg

If I could only wear one shoe for the rest of my life, which would be a complete tragedy, and I could wear any shoe (money no object) then a pair of black patent Mary Janes by Christian Louboutin would be my shoe of choice.

They are quite high which could prove unpractical for long periods of time but his shoes are so well crafted that you may not even notice. These shoes would be wasted with trousers but would be great with a skirt/dress. £420 from net a porter.

I don't know why, maybe it's just me, but there's something chunky and unflattering about those shoes. I think it's the heel. It either needs to be thicker like the louboutin 'super', or it needs to be thinner like the 'very prive'.

This black Mary Jane also came in green patent leather, which was even more desirable. It was highlighted in the New York Times Sunday Magazine a few weeks ago, and when I called Barney's to order a pair I was told the shoe was sold out MONTHS before it was featured in the NYT article - AND the story had only received four pairs.

I've been lusting after these for a long time. They just make me believe in the Shoe God!

Anyone found a "knock-off" that comes close? I have been looking but have not been able to find any NEAR as cool as these.

I agree with the first comment, but think the issue is that the toe, combined with the platform is chunky. Otherwise, it's a fab design, though I prefer the Louboutin peep toe Mary Jane stilettos.
