Silver t-bars from River Island

silbertbar.jpg River Island describe these shoes as "patent leather", which I have to admit has got me a little bit confused, because they look an awful lot like regular leather to me - anyone seen them in person and care to clarify? Whatever they're made of, I think they'd make a nice, versatile shoe for the summer. I don't care what anyone says, I still love metallics for their ability to made old jeans and dull dresses a little more interesting. These are £49.99 - is it my imagination, or has River Island had a little bit of a price hike lately?
