Celebrity trend: black's back!

Ah yes, Amy Winehouse is definitely ahead of the times with her style predictions, and it seems that they're being confirmed: we're going back to black... or at least, the celebrities are anyway. Case in point: Kate Bosworth at the Whitney Contemporaries Art Party and Auction in New York with her striking cocktail dress and black accessories (check out our sister site, The Bag Lady, for more information about her little black clutch). Carry on reading to take a look at the pick of black shoes this summer.

I've got to admit that I was pretty disappointed when it first became clear that black shoes were going to be a bit of a trend this summer. However, I loved the look of Kate Bosworth with her contrasting outfit, and what's better is that they'll last well into autumn and winter - see ladies, they really are an investment!
Cameron Diaz also chose the trend recently for one of her many many many Shrek the Third premieres and she certainly makes black heels look suitable summer wear with her gorgeous white minidress and tan. The pair in question seem very Marc Jacob-esque which are available from eLUXURY and reduced from US$525 to US$315 with a fabulous chunky heel.
Somewhat less expensive are these BCBGirls 'Mondy' black shoes at US$89. I love the slightly unusual curved shape of them so if you want something a little unusual, these might be suitable.
Faith also do a range of black heels, including these black leather 'Cutile' shoes. Available in white too, they're sold out in smaller sizes 3 and 4, so you'll have to get in quickly if you're interested. They're £45 with dipped sides and a tall stiletto heel.
If you want your shoes to be a bit more quirky and have more attitude though, then I'd recommend these 'Envy'-inducing peep-toe heels from Shellys. Also available in stunning electric blue, they have strap and buckle detail and are peep-toes for just £40.00
Finally, if you're a vegetarian or a vegan and want ethical footwear, how about these gorgeous 'Grace' black peep-toe heels by Sui Generis for Beyond Skin. They're pretty expensive at £297 but are classic, well made and suitable all year round.
So what do you think? Is this a trend you'll be embracing too?
