A love affair: Miu Miu's fabulous high heeled double strap pale blue Mary Janes, worn by Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff!

I can still remember my first ever pair of truly fabulous shoes. Made from soft, black leather, I wore them day in and day out, in the classroom as well as at play-times. In short: they were perfect. Little did I know back then that all these years later, I would be lusting after another pair of Mary Janes. Can you guess which designer pair I'm dying to get my hands on?!

Congratulations to those of you who've already guessed that I'm in love with Miu Miu's double strap pale blue Mary Janes. Clearly Hilary Duff is a fan, but she's not the only one sporting a pair.

The second celeb I've seen wearing them recently is, of course, Lindsay Lohan in the S/S Miu Miu advertising campaign itself. She's pictured with a simple navy top and cream mini, and the striking shoes are offset by her volumised eye-catching red hair and bright pink lipstick. Not exactly a casual look for going to the supermarket and buying cat food, then?!

Sadly I can't find the Miu Miu pale blue Mary Janes anywhere on the internet and so I can't give you a price, but I have found some alternatives. Nordstrom are currently stocking these Steven by Steve Madden 'Playful' Mary Jane pumps. The red patent ones are practically sold out, but the black are incredibly similar to the Miu Miu version. They feature two thin straps and a 3.5 inch heel, and are $109.95.

Also, as Laura recently mentioned, Net-a-Porter are selling these 'Super Wallis' platform pumps for £420.00. They're clearly more pricey but it seems that Louboutins are currently the celebrity shoe du jour.

Finally, these Mary Jane shoes from ASOS have a couple of unusual twists, including a peep toe and low t-bar detailing. Available in black or cream they obviously aren't classic Mary Janes, but they are just £30.00 so if you think your passion for the style may not last, these might be an idea.

Sooooo, what do you lovely ladies think?!

I have the black Miu Miu Mary Janes. They're absolutely gorgeous in the box but they're hell on earth to walk in.

Will persevere with them though as they are too precious to sell on.

I bought some purple double straps mary janes from Naturalizer. The heel is louie style and only two inches. I get complements on them all the time, and they're so comfy!

Anna - I'm hopelessly envious of your footwear! Despite the pain caused when wearing them, surely they're still worth it?!

Jael, I love the idea of purple Mary Janes! In fact, I'm a bit obsessed with purple at the moment anyway, ever since Cadbury decided to patent their own purple colour. I've looked for your pair online but am not sure which they are, can you point me in the right direction?

Oh definitely, gorgeous shoes are always worth it :p

Bit gutted that Nordstrom don't deliver to the UK though, as the red ones are available in my size. Bums.
