Terra Plana scoops Observer Ethical award
Those fabulous pink heels are back! And this time they've got reason to celebrate because Terra Plana has been voted 'ethical fashion product of the year' by a panel of experts at the Observer Ethical Awards this weekend.
Terra Plana, which aims to be the 'best feeling designer shoe brand in the world' scooped the award for its use of chrome-free leather (the chrome used to treat leather in most shoes can result in some pretty nasty waste products in our water) and pioneering recycled rubber soles. And if you've ever tried a pair on, you'll know that they're super-comfy too! Visit the website for more heels, sandals and trainers, and for the full list of winners, check out Hippyshopper.

While it seems like a good eco-effort, I have to say that killing animals just to make some leather shoes is still bad for the environment.
I'd much rather buy some cruelty-free pumps that use neither leather nor chrome and look much more fashionable ;)
But, hey! A+ for effort!
