Due to the fact that Net-a-Porter have recently paid homage to Miu Miu, here's a little early morning Top Five to whet your appetite!

I'm a huge Miu Miu fan and it sounds like lots of you ladies - and even the folks at Net-a-Porter - are too! They've been paying homage to the designer brand over the last few days so now I'm going to do the same by showing you five fabulous pairs of shoes. Read in to take a look at the works of beauty yourself!!

One thing that Muccia Prada excels in is pretty, pretty, pretty flats, so to begin I'm going to show you a couple of examples.

First up are these gold metallic open toe flats. The lace up detail is almost trainer-reminiscent but the bright colour and details such as the feminine bow prevent the shoes from being too sporty looking in any way. These are available for US$359 from the Rafaello Network but don't worry if they're a bit much for you, as there are numerous more classic pieces to choose from.

So, from something with a more boyish edge to a pair incredibly girly - complete with gold glitter panels! These glitter T-bar sandals at Net-a-Porter are purple in colour with a peep-toe, 10 cm high heel, rhinestones and all for the price of £280!

pink%20miu%20miu.bmp I also love these Miu Miu jewelled glitter slingbacks, also at Net-a-Porter. Lovely Amber wrote about them way back in November 2006 (see link below) when the trend for glittery shoes was already starting to feel a bit 'tired' and thus their impact was perhaps not as huge. However, after the freshness of spring I think these are beautiful and pretty complete with purple jewels (yes, that's right - more jewels) and a 9 cm heel.

black%20flat.bmp I've headed over to My Theresa next to scope out the Miu Miu situation there. These flat patent black shoes caught my eye not because they're unusual at all but simply because they really epitomise the Miu Miu school of thought which quite often seems to involve someone beginning to panic and saying 'No, no! Too plain! Quick, stick something sparkly, glittery or just plain big on them - hurry!'. So what would have been a plain pair of shoes now have a great whopping brooch on them! Such ingenious thinking as ever doesn't come cheap - these weigh in at €295.

brown%20bronze%20miu%20miu.bmp Perhaps the key to being a great shoe designer is sometimes knowing that you just need to hold back. My final pair of shoes (from Bluefly) prove Miu Miu can do this - although rather similarly to the one on 'Any Dream Will Do' (my recent Saturday night addiction) from Scotland who was blonde and got sent home because the audience only had to look at him for him to start beaming, Miu Miu couldn't resist just adding one extra little touch to these flats with the little black bow - naughty! The colour of these flats was what really struck me. Bronze/brown in colour with a sequin appliquéd upper they look like speckled eggs of some description! In the sale they're a bargain (Ha!) at US$320.40 - click here to take a look yourself.

So ladies, what do you think? How highly do Miu Miu rate for you?
