Jessica Simpson's shoe people deserve minor props for trying something slightly different. Rather than succumbing to the widespread copy-catting of Louboutin's red soles, they've left soles of the 'Mando' pump alone. Instead, they've added a dash of color to the insole near the toe, which peek out surrepticiously when worn. Cute concept. Are there any shoes out there with a similar splash of toe-area color but a more adorable shape? Then again, the hidden platform makes the slope of this shoe more forgiving than the 4'' heel lets on. US$49.90, on sale and down from US$88.95 original price.

This adorable Seychelles 'Social Climber' red flat with the li'l bow and tear-drop cutouts is made all the more interesting by its price tag: reduced from US$64.95, and now merely US$18.90! (70% reduction) I like everything about it - except that teeny stacked heel in the back. That thing is bound to make a lot of clacking noises (which I prefer not to make, unless I'm wearing heels) - I'd much prefer it if the shoe were completely flat!

These booties, or shoe boots if you like, are really catching on. They're cropping up everywhere in time for Autumn/Winter, just like last year and I'm not sure if many of this year's offerings are up to scratch.
While the right pair does look great with skinny jeans and dresses and tights alike, this pair from Faith still fail to excite for me. The leather, which should sell it, looks decidedly cheap. While I like the folding button detail it isn't enough to save these shoes from being rather dull. Certainly not worth the £65 price tag if you ask me. What do you think?
There was more than a nod towards biker leather on this season's catwalks, especially from designer Hermès, but I'm not sure I'm ready to give up my girly fashions just yet. What do you think?
These ankle boots from Topshop certainly fit the theme of biker but they're just not for me. They look too tough and too masculine for my tastes, and I'm not even particularly girlish most of the time. I look forward to seeing some sexy leather flats, but as yet I'm left uninspired. If you're a lover of this pair they're available from Topshop for £65.
How gorgeous is the colour of these 'Pushy' blue suede pumps by Boutique 9? Ok so the pumps themselves aren't particularly unusual or exciting, but they'll definitely add a fabulous splash of colour to an outfit without looking like you've been trying too hard. I also love the heel height - at 2.25 inches they aren't going to be impossible to walk in but if you're a heels girl at heart, they still have enough height to be of interest. They're just US$110 and if you're a fan of the style, they're also available in purple.

I'm not terribly fond of gold shoes, but if you must, these are surely the perfect pair. I'll admit they are a fantastic way to transform an outfit into a glamorous one, and I've said it a million times that the best way to wear a hint of the metallic trend is on your tootsies.
These Jill Stuart Maritime heels are a style to die for. I love the round toe and ankle strap and the heel is just the right height. Available in gold (as pictured) and vanilla this gorgeous pair are $229 and $164 for each respective colour in Shopbop's summer sale.
Wherever you stand on Irregular Choice shoes, there's no denying that they're definitely an option to consider if you like your footwear quirky. These Blatent Patent flats are probably the most subdued and retiring pair in the current range which tells you something, but I'm actually quite taken by them. White leather with red patent leather detailing at the front, they have a one inch high heel and are slingbacks. The website suggests pairing them with red tights, although personally I wouldn't take the look that far - but if you aren't keen on the colours you can also get them in black with a white strap, or green with an orange strap, too, for just £32.
