Jessica Simpson 'Mando' pump with red insole toe

_5333301.jpgJessica Simpson's shoe people deserve minor props for trying something slightly different. Rather than succumbing to the widespread copy-catting of Louboutin's red soles, they've left soles of the 'Mando' pump alone. Instead, they've added a dash of color to the insole near the toe, which peek out surrepticiously when worn. Cute concept. Are there any shoes out there with a similar splash of toe-area color but a more adorable shape? Then again, the hidden platform makes the slope of this shoe more forgiving than the 4'' heel lets on. US$49.90, on sale and down from US$88.95 original price.

This is still a complete rip off. Louboutin does this same thing with a variety colors and materials. It just looks to me as if they were too cheap to go the whole way with making a "fake".

Nine West copied Louboutin too and did it better. I know the JS line is built on copying better designers, this is just a sad attempt.

If designers want to seem as though they are trying "something new", and not copying the infamous Louboutin, why then, do they use the same baddodilly red for Pete's sake?..

Maybe you (the designers) could try a different colour and concept perhaps?!..although I guess anything will always be linked back to the original founder maybe...hmm

I am not so sure that there is any excitement to be gleaned from the Mando pump. Louboutinesque styling from the Jessica empire just does not quite shirk off my suspicion that it is cheap and lame, although tastes are personal of course. I am going by the photo.

It does not make me want to slam around town in them, but then when I plumped for the more affordable pump luck swung my way and the Nine West liatris tip toed into my swollen shoe closet. A closet that dare not reveal its contents to MrJuliet. Some people have skeletons - well I have platforms.

Nine West shaped the liatris to perfection and it stands up to scrutiny from all directions, with a sexy satin platform peep revealled underfoot - the foot covered all bar the toes in real well worked leather.

To say that it is a flawless tribute to the Louboutin is not to overstate its classic proportions but to vouch for the quality of the leather and finish - and whats more they look fab with matching nail polish.

Sorry Jessica, you trail behind, but keep on trying. You are welcome to England to try your designs here, but like Mz Lopez we have yet to hear the pitter patter of your range making an impact. My toes are wiggling at the thought of a SteveMadden fest though. Apparently he is set to make an impact after his sales in the states have lowered - or is that just wicked gossip?

Is shoewawa english or american - I only subscribed today, and have been dipping my toe in the wawa waters as my accompaniment to the eBay experience - well, Zappos don't yet deliver to Surrey!

:::: sobs ::::

Oh hang on, I am exploring ShoeWaWa while the family sleeps and will not be disturbed, my tears have evaporated - heheh

Keep up the good work ladies...
