Lanvin's Mary Jane flat pumps at Matches Fashion - my driving shoes when I win the lottery!

flat%20mj.bmp Before you ask, the answer's no - I'm not on the payroll at Lanvin. I am, however, rather taken with the A/W collection - including these flat Mary-Jane pumps. I know that not all of you are massive fans of a 4 inch stiletto heel, but if you want to wear Mary-Janes all the same, Lanvin have created these for you. Available at Matches Fashion for £248 (ouch) you can pick them up in red/brown, black, or my favourite - navy blue, and they're 100% leather. The only problem is practicality - I can't imagine them coming out too well in a battle against the rain and damp conditions, and they wouldn't keep your poor little toes too warm, either! Do you think they're cute, or are they a bit too slipper-like to be taken seriously?

I can't believe the price, why are they doing this to us consumers? Ridiculous, with the dollar/ pound conversion, what is the price in dollars? Over 400?
Ladies we must protest these terrible prices.
I'm feeling a little militant today!

Poochie

Why not just get cotton Chinese Mary Janes for $4 from Pearl River. At least it won't matter when you ruin them. Or if you need a sturdier option, Target has some cute driving mocs for about $20 - that's what I have in the car so I don't ruin my "fancy" shoes.

You can get nearly the same thing, from China, and in fabric and plastic, just like Poochie said. You're into brand names, are you?

It's all very well saying you can buy some $4 Chinese shoes but they will not last nor will they be designed for much more than wearing around the home.

Personally I would rather spend £200+ on a pair of European made shoes than buy a far east import, time people started thinking about the environmental impact of "disposable" fashion
